Summary

The Teruo Kondo production which dealt with suspense system and an action thing is produced mainly till then. I reconstitute the story of the original in a story led by hotel employee, Ippei Akagawa and unfold as a story of "the group drama" judging from a viewpoint of Akagawa. 2 was cool, and the third series of the broadcast and the fourth series of the 1995 broadcast were broadcasted in 1994 (other series broadcasts 1 Kool).

I appoint Masanobu Takashima who was a new face actor as the part of Ippei Akagawa despite a Nisei talent. I decided that Teruo Kondo and Shoji Segawa to see the performance in "everlasting summer daughters per punishment" put Takashima on the Akagawa position [1]. The immaturity embodies by "the strenuous efforts of the youth" with costars by a performance full of the vitality of the left thing. The scene that, "I'm sorry," apologized to a hotel guest was mimicked by Tsutomu Sekine as soon as a fixed expression by the narration of Akagawa "was an older sister, a case" and became the topic.

The drama begins in the place where Ippei Akagawa (Takashima) enters Tokyo Plato as Shinnyu hotel employee of the hiring throughout the year. A guest performer appears for each story as a hotel guest and the person concerned of the hotel and attaches a flower.

Other than the series, the special version of 2 hours was broadcasted, too. In addition, the dish confrontation at the restaurant of the hotel of Huis Ten Bosch was broadcasted as a memorial program when Akira Nagoya died.

On November 1, 2006, the DVD of the first season is released by PONY CANYON and is now on sale one after another afterwards.

Tokyo Plato

A chief character. Cornell university graduate (the special autumn of '90). There is son of a noble family Rene メリッツ of ホテルメリッツ which is a rival group of Plato in the same period of the university (the special autumn of '90). After having belonged to New York Plato, staying rule personality of Tokyo Plato, it is a general manager later. I am in a position to unify a staying section, 料飲部門, the plan sales divisions and get fame as an excellent hotel employee in the industry as well as the group hotel. I have received the training in the days of a new face in pepper Plato Hotel of Sydney (the second series, second). I am single, but I have been married to scholar of English literature "Hiroko Saegusa" and appear now in the special autumn of '90 (Ryoko Sakaguchi). In addition, the process becomes clear with the original in Episode 11 "DO NOT DISTURB", but the name comes up as married "east temple Hiroko" at the time. I am dispatched for the rebuilding of the affiliated hotel in Hawaii with Akagawa and Tachibana in the fifth series. I am called "an east temple manager" from a subordinate. It is for a drama and wears glasses, but does not wear glasses with the original.
Mari Saeki (rule)

A secretary for president. Is in charge of a plan held by a banquet or the big contract of the company, and can talk in English, French; is trilingual. Originally in a post to experience a bell girl, a banquet, front Clark, every duty including the room cleaning by Hong Kong Plato duty, and to finally receive in VIP mainly promotion (recollection with the 91 special). I acted as a secretary for manager in New York Plato and was the subordinate of the east temple afterwards. It becomes the transfer of a census register to Tokyo Plato winning confidence of Ohara, and, four years when east temple became the transfer to Tokyo Plato later, it is Secretary president (the first series, first). I am dispatched in the French hotel chestnut on with Kageyama in the special spring of '92. I am called "Mari" by the name including a younger student except that I am called "Saeki" from Ohara of the president.
Ippei Akagawa (あかがわいっぺい)

A hotel employee. It is drawn with the drama version as a central figure of the stories. The hotel subject of the university is for a drama and would find work to Tokyo Plato by hiring throughout the year, and it is assigned to a bellboy after graduation (the first series, first). I cause failure all the time at first and often became the big disturbance, but there is the case which a thing solved by his passionate and fiery zeal-like character. It is transferred a census register later by front Clark (the second series), and it is before I get promotion to front Clark assistant manager seven years later (the series third in the special spring of '94). It is the first series and it was love relationship, but she becomes the transfer to Hong Kong Plato and will part from Mizutani with promising a reencounter. Akira Tachibana assigned to a bellboy as a new employee in the third series acts as the younger student of the university. The English test in case of the test for employment did not seem to be so good, but it comes to be possible for English of the native level among roads at the very beginning in the first season, and the ability is high. The parents' house runs the inn. I take the narration in the drama and become the style of reciting such as the letters from Ippei to an older sister. "Is an older sister, a case," but excellent ゼリフ [3].
Kyoko Mizutani (みずたにきょうこ)

Front Clark. The first series. I came to have admiration to hear a story from father who did a cook in Tokyo Plato and worked part-time at a blanket for the school days. Of the thing taking an employment examination afterwards become unacceptable. I stay as (the day when, in other words, Ippei entered the company as a new face hotel employee), a diversion in a high-quality suite of Plato in the next year and set mischief, but the opportunity of the test for employment is given in an exception by east temple and, after a disturbance, passes it wonderfully (the first series, first). It is Ippei and others and the same period of the hiring throughout the year (but Ippei have been already assigned and are entering a company from the back closely). I have rushed into the president's office by oneself in order to talk about a method avoiding a trouble (the first series, ninth). I played the part of bride at the simulated wedding ceremony of the wedding fair. It became the relation just before the lover with Ippei, but moved to Hong Kong Plato (the special autumn of '91).
Ryoko Kageyama (smell mountain Riyoko)

A bell girl. The second series. The parents' house a well-established restaurant, Katsura shop of Kyoto (the second series, third). He lost father in childhood, but father was east temple and relation between old friend. I receive the one-year training with the intention of the east temple which was consulted about mother (Kyoko Enami) in "pepper Plato Hotel" in Australia Sydney and move to Tokyo Plato afterwards (the second series, second and third). I appear from the first in the second series, but develop the story in pepper Plato Hotel before becoming the Tokyo Plato duty with the third in the form called the side story (therefore the indication of "the bell girl" grieves at credit to the second). I cut hair in the work middle and was taken a shortcut. I am dispatched in Hawaii in the training in France in 92 autumns in the special spring of '92.
Hiromi Namiki (Miki Hiromi)

Front Clark. The second series. I act as a younger student of Ippei. If it was born in Kagoshima and becomes emotional, a just Kagoshima dialect is given. I commute by a bicycle.
Keiko Sato (sugar lesson)

Front Clark. The third series. An appearance first in the special spring of '94. I have acted as chairmanship by an event hosted by an employee in expert one. I speak that I like the detective Colombo series in the TV drama.

A bell girl. The third series. The first subordinate of Akagawa promoted to front Clark assistant manager.

Front Clark. The fourth series. The job hopper from a cabin attendant. I suggest the tie-up with the hotel in Hawaii Maui Island and am a quite good working woman.

A bell girl. The fourth series. I pretended to be "a false bell girl" in the third series (the seventh) from the strong admiration to a bell girl, but I passed a test for employment of the next year and realized a dream.
Kojima Tina (Kojima Tina)

Front Clark. Akagawa and the same period. Originally English thoroughly enjoys it because I lived abroad. However, Japanese and English may be mixed when angry.
Shuji Kitayama (きたやましゅうじ)
演 - Jo Onodera
A bellboy. A senior of Akagawa. Act as a bellboy for a long time, and is front desk and Bell; the existence of the elder brother. I become captain Bell in the third series. When I got promotion to (the second series beginning) and a sub manager when Akagawa became a placement alternate to front Clark, the relations of both have become serious at one time in (the third series beginning), but it is close basically and goes together with Akagawa for trip to Los Angeles that Akagawa exposed by the quiz of the weekly in the special autumn of '91 (because the contents of the leave application were remarkably really different from a fact, it was about to become the problem, but there becomes no blame in two by arrangement of Saiki).
Jun Mizuno (order not to see)

A front chief. The first series. A captain of the front that Akagawa was assigned to a bellboy at the time. I have hoped for placement change for to business, but I finally regain confidence, and I am overcome by a mistake of the correspondence in English for the foreign visitor. Goro, Nakajima (Goro Nakajima)

The storekeeper of the well-established tempura restaurant of Tokyo, Nihonbashi. Originally it was a regular customer of Tokyo Plato and has fried tempura by free participation in a Japanese restaurant in Plato (the special spring of '91). I lose a wife, but Junko of the daughter starts for her new post to Tokyo Plato as a house doctor in the second series. And I marry again in the second series. When I open a store, I have got into trouble, but solve a branch by the effort of Akagawa in のち Hawaii. Leave the management of the tempura restaurant to a son and take office as a total chef de cuisine in the third series afterwards. Is the same as Yamasaki to elementary school - high school, and is a high school; equal to the senior of the aikido department (the special spring of '91).
Machiko Ichikawa (いちかわまちこ)
演 - Mio Takaki
A staying manager room secretary. The first series, second series (I wore glasses in the first series exclusively). I act as a person in charge of education of Akagawa in working women with Mochida of the front office manager and am strict with appearances. However, when the story of the headhunt to Mochida became clear in the first series, I was shocked and wept bitterly and might be upset. I was good at flower arrangement and a tea ceremony, and I was dispatched with Yamasaki in the second series beginning by "pepper Plato Hotel" of Sydney when a request was to Tokyo Plato when I wanted to lecture on the Japanese culture.
Yuki Mori (forest -)
演 - Yumiko Okayasu
A staying manager room secretary. The first series, second series. It becomes the love relationship since I cheered up the trouble that Mizuno caused in the first series. Mizuno is transferred to Nagoya Plato in the special autumn of '91, but Saeki states that a forest attached an engage ring for east temple, and the story is over in Mizuno and form to suggest that I got engaged on this occasion.
Kenichi Mochida (もちだけんいち)
演 - Nenji Kobayashi
A front office manager. The person in charge of the staying section including the front section. I act as the boss under direct control of Akagawa. I have been in charge of (the first series, fourth), business other than the front desk (the special autumn of '90) and take the center of the management of the staying section as a front office manager afterwards with east temple and Saiki. The wife has already died in father of two children. The story of the headhunt is approached with by the hotel group establishing the head office in the U.K. in the first series, but a petition could be started by an Akagawa employee and finally thinks and remains (first series, the third - fourth). I resign from Tokyo Plato in the fourth series afterwards.
Keisuke Takagi (たかぎけいすけ)
演 - Michael Tomioka
A front office manager. I take up my new post as a successor of Mochida in the fourth series. Originally there is a skill to surpass than the guest room maintenance person in charge of Plato because I worked in making a bed.
Yoshikazu Yamazaki (I do not spread it Yamazaki)
演 - Akira Onodera
A banquet manager. A person in charge of 料飲部門 including the banquet section. I am in charge of an event or the administration of the restaurant. I appear for the first time in the special autumn of '90, and it is cast as a regular by the second series. I belonged to "pepper Plato Hotel" of Sydney in the days of the new face and acted as the front of のち Tokyo Plato (the special autumn of '90). A class of the Japanese culture will be held in "the pepper Plato hotel" where I belonged to for the new face era in the second series beginning and is dispatched with Ichikawa and goes back with Ichikawa and Kageyama afterwards (second series, the first - third).
Izumi Jinbo (じんぼいずみ)
演 - Mariko Fuji
I work as a hotel contracted doctor in the medical office. Father a ship's doctor (the first series, third). I acted as substitution of the lecture by the arrangement of the east temple by the wedding fair (the first series, eighth). I am invited by the university of Nagasaki and resign from Tokyo Plato. A story unfolds afterwards because consultation is approached with by the master of the sushi bar of Tokyo when she is dispatched at the hotel in Huis Ten Bosch in the special autumn of '93. I return to のち Tokyo Plato. In addition, Jinbo appears in the original as a contract doctor with east temple and Saiki.
Junko Nakajima (Nakajima order comes)
演 - Mayumi Wakamura
A house doctor. I appeared as a daughter of Goro, Nakajima for the first time in the special spring of '91 and was the emergency measure of Akagawa who had fallen from stairs. Will start for the new post as a house doctor afterwards on behalf of Izumi in the special autumn of '91; is a regular from the second series. I decide that I make it young and lose mother, and it is to a doctor in spite of objection of father and enter a school of higher grade in the medical department (the second recollection with the series, the third). Ohara iron Taro (おおはらてつたろう)

The president (under an alias: a boss). It is a chief executive for the whole of management, the management and may occasionally show a skeptical viewpoint for the policy of the east temple, but puts trust of the overall width in east temple and Saiki. Tomoko (Kazue Fukiishi) of the granddaughter enters Tokyo Plato as a bell girl later.

Older sister
演 - Yasuko Sawaguchi
An older sister of Akagawa. The narration of Akagawa in the drama becomes the style of reciting such as the letter to an older sister and addresses you as "an older sister" first in the narration beginning of each time (e.g.,: in "older sister, Plato…Is "" older sister, a case;). I manage the inn of the parents' house with mother. Because styles to be called an inn and a luxury hotel are different, but act as a person in the same profession, it is the adviser who it is the understanding person who is good for Akagawa, and is good. Although I did not do it, as for Sawaguchi, as for the appearance in coming, only a voice has appeared in the first series last by a story in (the line).

毎年2月になると、ホテルランキング格付けの季節がやってくる。そんな中、プラトンでヘンチクな客としてやってきたのが元ニューヨークプラトンのチーフでホテル評論家の本山である。本山は数ある評論家の中ではとりわけ評価が厳しいと評判で、どんな卑劣な行為でもホテル全体を評価をする極めて手強い人物。この男のために立て続けに事件が起きるが、やがて佐伯が本山と再会した時に過去の話を打ちわけると…。

プラトンでブライダルフェアが行われることになり、事前アンケートの案によって準備は着々と進められた。そしてブライダルフェア前日、中川直美という女性がプラトンに現れ、『例えどんな人が来ても取り次がないでほしい』と赤川に忠告する。その後、彼女を追いかけてきた男性が現れる。男性は直美の婚約者だったのだが、彼女は男性に会いたがらない。水野も直美の友人であり、彼女の話を聞くことになる。ところがブライダルフェア当日、講演を担当する女性小説家がパリからの飛行機の遅れでプラトンに来られなくなってしまう。そこで東堂は意外な人物を講演の代理に抜擢させる。

ある朝、1人の外国客がスイートルームを利用することから始まる。ウォーカー商事のオーナー、ジョン・ウォーカーは、経営陣の中では世界でもトップクラスを争うほどの気難しい性格とされ、時間厳守も世界一厳しいとされる。そんな中、赤川の友人・宮沢（嶋大輔）がプラトンに訪れ、自分は三洋トレーディングのサラリーマンとして勤めており、ジョンに商談したいがためにホテルに泊まると話した。アポのない者は会いたがらない主義のジョンに何とかアプローチをかける宮沢。その一方で風邪でダウンしたドアマンの代理を担当していた赤川は、ジョンとの商談のために来た田島という女性客のカバンを取り忘れるというミスを犯す。彼女のカバンには、ジョンと会うための資料が満載であったという重要書類が入っていたため田島は大激怒。カバンは運よく出てきてジョンとの打ち合わせには間に合ったもののカバンの中身を確認しなかったとして商談は不成立。そのことで赤川は「自分のせいだ」と責任を感じ、悩みがあると感じた神保は一平を客室に呼び出し、ホテルマンのサービスとは何かを説き、「ホテルマンは様々なサービスをするサーバント=奴隷で、君は奴隷以下」だと言われ赤川はショックを受ける。そして宮沢は、ジョンとの商談をすべく大きな賭けに出ることになるが、赤川はサラリーマンになった宮沢と自分との違いからコンプレックスを抱き始める。

イギリスから来た、亡くなった推理小説家のジョン・ベーカーの元妻アガサは、新たな小説を書くためのネタ探しにプラトンに泊まりに来たが、カードキーを部屋に置き忘れたことに気づき、赤川はマスターキーを取りに行く。しかしその間にアガサは完全な密室になったはずの客室のバスルームで倒れていた。その一方で、複数の大学生が卒業記念としてコンパを行い、ホテルに潜入。その大学生たちが犯人だと推理した赤川は部屋に入るがゾンビマスクに驚いて気絶し、車（フォード・サンダーバード）のトランクに監禁される[8]。そして東堂は密室事件のトリックを暴く。

従業員3名が東京ヒルトンホテルのプールに遊びに行くことになり、外国人3人組と知り合いになったことから騒動になる。一方朝礼で食品メーカー「マックコーン社」から日本での宿泊先選定のために視察に訪れるということが伝えられる。この3人組はマックコーン社長の息子で父親の立場を利用して過剰サービスを要求。だが、料金を皿洗いのバイトで返済するようにいわれた。また早朝、散歩中に倒れた外国人を赤川が介抱し、プラトンの医務室で手当をする。その人物がマックコーン社長であり、経緯を知った社長から皿洗いでもなんでもやらせて宿泊代を返済しろと同意、契約が成立する。

赤川がベルボーイに降格（パークハイアットからベルマンの教育係派遣のためのテスト）。一方立花が案内した客がホテル内の様子や従業員を写真にとっていたことに赤川らが気付くことになる。その後、パークハイアットへ赤川を中心とした教育チームを派遣、開業前研修が始まる。中島は料理の最終チェックを行うが、和風のおかゆがないことを調理師に注意することとなる。

立花が出勤途中、タクシー乗り場にいた男性（せんだみつお）から「安いホテルはないか?」と訪ねられて、プラトンホテルを紹介し連れて来る。この客がサービスの内容に不満を漏らし、騒動になる。そのため立花が背中を流したりマッサージするなどのサービスをするが赤川に止められる。宿泊代が払えないので逃げ出そうとするも取引先との契約に成功、従業員にも非があったため、宿泊代は出世払いということで収まる。

勤務後ビアガーデンでみんなが話をしている時、お盆の話が出る。翌日、福岡からの客チェックインした際、佐藤が案内をかって出ることに、後に亡くなった祖父に似ていることをみんなに話すが、客にあまり肩入れしないほうがよいと言われてしまった。その後、福田の息子夫婦が訪ねてくることから騒動が起こる。

  • 連続シリーズとしては最後の作品。ハワイにあるプラトン系列ホテルの再建に東京プラトンから東堂、赤川、立花の3人が派遣される。ビル杉田のより大胆なリストラ計画・人員削減が発動されるが、杉田婦人によるスイートルーム貸切やリムジン送迎の費用などを会社経費で支払っていたことが判明。赤川と東堂からスイートルームを一般開放し宿泊回転率を上げる他、希望早期退職者を募り、送迎車の自己負担化などにより経営再建が可能と判断された。

ロケに使用されたホテル

メインで利用されたホテルは、ヒルトン東京ベイ、シリーズ最後に放送されたハワイ編では、ザ・カハラホテル&リゾート。その後に放送された2時間のスペシャル版では、東京ドームホテルが使われた。それ以外は、研修先などで使用された。柳沢は関口宏の東京フレンドパーク2に出演時の景品がカハラホテルの宿泊券だったため、このホテルを高評価している。

雑記

  • 高嶋によると、ホテルでのロケは、できるだけ客が少ない時間帯を利用して撮影を行ったが、撮影の合間の待ち時間が長く、制服姿でロビーなどで待機していると、客に本物のホテルマンだと思われ、よく声をかけられて困惑したという。ドラマの撮影の本番中の時に宿泊していたと思われる客がカメラに気付き、動揺しているシーンが実際に放送されたこともあった。
  • プラトンの社員食堂で一平たちがいろいろと相談をするシーンがよく使われているが、この食堂は撮影で使用されたホテルの社員食堂ではなく、東洋大学朝霞キャンパスにある図書館地下学生食堂だった。
  • 第5シリーズまで、外国人の出演者が話す際には字幕スーパーが付いていたが、外国編で日本語が少ないということ、英会話が不得意な出演者がいるということなどから、第5話「天才とバカの関係」から外国人のセリフを声優によって吹き替えされるようになった。また、その決定がシリーズ放送開始後に決まったため、その回から数回は英語で撮影されたものを、高嶋ら本人が日本語を吹き替えするという、ちぐはぐな形になった。
  • 和田豊が現役時代に宿泊客の役で出演していたことがあったが、セリフはなかった。[10]
