Halifax (British: Halifax) is a state capital of Canada Nova Scotia.

Speaking of Halifax, I usually often point to this HRM now by being complicated with Halifax and neighboring cities as a metropolis in 1996, and having formed Halifax area urban area (abbreviated to HRM, Halifax Regional Municipality).

Summary

With approximately 359,000 population (2001 statistics), it is metropolis of the Canadian Atlantic coast district's greatest culture, economy. Former Halifax City and Dartmouth, Bedford, Halifax county merged in 1996, and municipal organization took effect. A center of the cities is second coast population concentration area next to British Columbia, Vancouver in Canada in a population concentration department facing the Halifax port at the west end. HRM accounts for 40% of population of Nova Scotia and occupies 15% of population of the whole Atlantic Provinces.

History

  • In 1749, Halifax City is built as a new governor-general's office of the Nova Scotia colony. I was called シェブクト (Chebucto) till then.
  • On December 6, 1917, gunpowder explodes by the collision of the cargo boat with the military gunpowder very much, and most of the cities become the ruins (Halifax University explosion).
  • 1995 - The SummitSummit) is performed.

  • "The chronicle Herald" (The Chronicle Herald) is a daily press intending for Nova Scotia. It is an independent system, and this newspaper has moderate conservative editing management policies.
