Egawa distinguished bravery

The Egawa distinguished bravery (えがわひでたけ, Kaei era April 5, 6 (May 12, 1853) - 1933 (1933) October 2) is Nirayama chief administrator of the late Tokugawa period period, Governor of Nirayama of the Meiji period, a government official, a school teacher. The popular name is Taro Court Security Office later 籌之助. 号 is green in spring. A child has Hidefumi Egawa of the jurist. In addition, a son-in-law has Saburo Yamada, Takashi Tatsuno.

Origin

I am born in Izu country Tagata-gun Nirayama (existing Izunokuni-shi, Shizuoka) as Itsuo of Eiryu Egawa (坦庵). Father died in (1855) for Ansei two years, and Hidetoshi Egawa of the older brother inherited the birthright, but because the older brother died young in (1862) for Bunkyu two years seven years later, distinguished bravery did it to only 10 years old and succeeded to birthright, and it was the Egawas 38th charges present head of a household, Nirayama chief administrator and gave Tarozaemon Egawa. I was appointed afterwards in gun and drill hall professors.

When Boshin War broke out in (1868) in 1868, it was relieved in a former territory because I showed will of the allegiance on the Meiji government side hurriedly [1], and it was the Governor of the Nirayama prefecture in (1869) in 1869. I receive (1871), the command of the ministry of military affairs in 1871 and go to the United States as a foreign student with Iwakura mission. After the studying abroad of approximately eight years, I returned home in (1879) in 1879 and entered a service in the Department of the Interior, the Ministry of Finance. I take office as (1886), the principal of the town village Izu school (existing Shizuoka Prefectural Nirayama high school) in 1886. I laid emphasis on English education and judo education (I invite Tsunejiro Tomita as a lecturer) at school, but a student decreased from financial difficulties and I stopped headmastership several years later and moved to Tokyo [2]. In addition, I ran for the first member of the House of Representatives general election in independents from the Shizuoka seventh ward (Sunto-gun, Tagata-gun) and got 306 votes, but I lost and ran for a Representative second general election to continue from the electoral district, but lost last place vote. [3]

I die in (1933), Hayama-machi, Miura-gun, Kanagawa in 1933. Age at death 81.
