Droid (mud id) is font family made for a platform of the opening handset Arai Ann's, the use in Android by アセンダー corporation and is licensed in Apache License. I am constructed in Droid Sans (block letter), Droid Serif (lines), Droid Sans Mono (monospace).

Characteristic

Droid is the TrueType font family which assumed the use with the small screen of the portable device [1].

A variety of Droid is available to support multi-double-byte character sets such as CJK with available a little memory footprint with a portable device [2].

The styles of the available style of handwriting are different in each Droid font: Droid Serif can use a regular body, bold type, an italic type and a boldface italic type. A regular and boldface are available to Droid Sans. Only a regular is available in Droid Sans Mono, Droid Sans Fallback, Droid Sans Japanese [3].

On February 5, 2009, the アセンダー corporation released "Pro" version of the Droid font including the Condensed version of expansion of font data, Oldstyle Figures and Droid Sans. [4]

History

The font was designed by the Steve mat loss (Steve Matteson) of the アセンダー corporation. The name comes from platform, Android of the opening handset Arai Ann's.
