Definition forest railway

A definition forest railway (じょうげ [※ 1] しんりんてつどう) is a forest railway operated in Forestry Agency Aomori Regional Forestry Office Sendai District Forestry Office jurisdiction of current Okura, Aoba-ku, Sendai-shi, Miyagi.

The total extension was approximately 11km, and a large parking lot of the current definition Buddha (じょうげにょらい) was the ex-starting point and timber yard and was the route that reached Ou mountain range, the Kanpuzan foot of a mountain than this along Okura river (branch of the Natori river water system Hirose River).

History

The stock prices slumped very much in the United States of America, the New York Stock Exchange on October 24, 1929, and the world financial crisis began, but I did lifting the gold embargo (1930) in Japan in January in 1930, the following day and was swallowed in the wave and fell into a Showa panic (agricultural panic of the Showa era). In the same year, I started forest road development as unemployment relief work in Miyagi and pushed forward forest road development as relief work of the farming and mountain villages under the name of disaster, damage from cold weather measures afterwards [1]. Use of the brown coal (Sendai brown coal) was generalized as fuel in Miyagi, but there was demand in those days because building materials use for military affairs was multipurpose, and the wood was used other than fuel such as firewood and the charcoal.

I was used once as a mountain trail of Mount Funagata, but I am not used after a municipal road and a prefectural road were inaugurated in parallel and go to ruin. I stay without a tree bridge (concrete supporting beam) and the brake hut of the inclined plane being removed [2].
