イェジー グロトフスキ

イェジー グロトフスキ (Jerzy Grotowski, from 1933 to 1999) is a Polish director. I propose "a poor drama" and make much of plain, ascetic space and the body of the actor by the thorough training.

I am born in ジェシュフ and graduate from national drama university actor subject (1955) of Krakow and supervision subject (1960). In addition, meanwhile, I study in Moscow. In 1959, I found an experimental theater (Teatr Laboratorium). I am active from 1959 through 60 in オポーレ, and the experimental theater moves to Wroclaw afterwards (1965-84). I dissolve a theatrical company in 1984 and emigrate to the United States. I continued being active based in Italy from 1985. Meanwhile, I take the birch at various universities.
