Antoine Loran de ジュシュー

Antoine Loran de ジュシュー (Antoine Laurent de Jussieu, from April 12, 1748 to September 17, 1836) is a French botanist. In book "genus ("Genera plantarum": in 1789) about the classification of the phanerogam in particular of the plant", I am still known by having defined most of used courses. It is abbreviated to Juss.

ジュシュー was born in Lyon, and, Bernard de ジュシュー which was an uncle, Antoine (Antoine), Joseph (Joseph) were botanists again, too. I submitted an article about the crowfoot family in 1763, and it was recognized by the scientific academy. I learned medicine in Paris and I graduated in 1770 and was met in Paris botanical garden.

I developed the thought of Bernard de ジュシュー in 1774 and announced the new classification system by the form, but needed 15 years for completion more. Of all the classifications of the phanerogam next with the thing which there were many parts which are unnatural because the classification by Linnaeus before him classified plants by the number of a stamen and the pistil, but is more natural as for the classification system of ジュシュー become basic. When it is an epoch-making achievement equal to achievements of Lavoisier in the experimental science, Cuvier praises it about "the genus of the plant" of the book, but ジュシュー oneself comes under an influence of Cuvier and work of Augustin ピラミュ do perception Dole very much, too.

I was appointed by the director of the National Museum of Natural History established in the previous year in 1794. I became the botany professor of the medical college in 1804 and served until 1826. Most of the later years went blind, but Adrian = Henri (Adrien-Henri) of the son became a botanist, too and acted as the natural history director following his next.
