With American Geophysical Union (ちきゅうぶつりがくれんごう, English in the United States: American Geophysical Union), it is a geophysical society in the United States of America. The abbreviated designation is AGU.

Summary

It is the world's largest society in the field of geophysics, and AGU is opened by researchers and students of the world. As of 2004, 41,000 people join it from 130 countries. I was established in 1919 and became NPO corporation in 1972.

I consist of meteorology, oceanography, solid geophysics, hydrology, four areas of the space science.

An autumn meeting is held in United States of America San Francisco in a schedule of 5 days in the middle of December, and 20,000 or more participate every year from all the countries of the world. In addition, a combination meet is held every year in a schedule of 4 days in May. In addition, the meeting in each field is held, too.
