A bridge (the chopsticks which are not hatched) not to come back through is a bridge located at the west end of Joint Security Area of Korean Peninsula central part, Panmunjeom [1].
I appear in 沙川江 becoming the military boundary. The original name sand river Bridge (サチョンギョ, 사천교) [1].
The prisoner exchange after the Korean War cease-fire of 1953 was performed at this bridge. When captives chose a direction of north and south either on this bridge, I could move back twice and came to be called "bridge (for translating it literally 돌아올수없는다리 "the bridge which cannot come home") not to return" to because there was not it [1]. Thereafter it becomes the symbol of the north and south division.
There is a village on the North Korean side, and there is "the spot of the poplar case" near the guard place on the United Nations forces side. In addition, it became the stage of Korean movie "JSA" shown in 2000.
