Summary

It is located in Northeast Akita and borders Aomori. It is located in the west of the Ou mountain range, the northern part of the Kazuno Basin.

Lake Towada was in the northeastern part of the town, but the border of the town was not settled until 2008. A border with Towada-shi was decided by a memorandum (2008) in September in 2008 [1], and I was notified by an official daily gazette, and the west of Lake Towada became the town area of Kosaka-machi formally [2].

Kosakakouzan was discovered in the early 19th century and prospered in gold, silver digging. The digging of copper, zinc was carried out in the Meiji era, too, and a large number of modern architecture was built including Kosakakouzan office, and the town prospered very much. Mine resources dried up after World War II, and the town declined than once.

In late years I explore the citizen-based town planning that I made use of modern architecture of the Meiji period and tourist attractions of Lake Towada in. In addition, I recycle it from home electric appliances, and industry to pick up a rare metal develops.
