Summary
I enter the Kyoto aspect country temple, and it is said that I wanted to be you in linked poem at the age of 30 years old in one's youth. I learned linked poem from 宗砌, 専順, 心敬, and instruction was granted to Tsuneyori To in the ancient and modern times. In addition, I learn Chinese classics from Ryuto Shoshuu who is the younger brother of the relationship that it is the way it goes.
It linked the kind ball hermitage to court noble and general, Kamigyo (I chew and have fun) where the governor-general of the Kanto area lived in after (1473) for civilization five years and crossed with an upper grade samurai of the Muromachi Shogunate of court noble and Masamoto Hosokawa et al. of Sanetaka Sanjonishi et al. In addition, I ask it influential local people people of area near Kyoto and Ouchi of Suo, Takeda of Wakasa, Hatakeyama of Noto, a daimyo of Uesugi and others each place of Echigo. I became a Kitano linked poem place master (1488) in March for Chokyo era two years and became the first person of the linked poem world both in name and in reality. I left this job to 兼載 soon, and a collection did "新撰菟玖波集" with 兼載 and others (1495) in June for Meio era four years. Through a life, I often took a trip to each place, but it was accompanied (1502) for Bunki era two years the Manager of the pupil at sect, Soseki and others, and, on the way to Mino, I sank in an inn of Hakoneyumoto, and I was buried in Momozono, Suruga (existing: Susono-shi, Shizuoka) 定輪寺 by Echigo.
After Onin War, feeling of the classic revival increased, and interest in Kyoto culture and a rage for linked poem were seen in the class of local powerful family particularly local people feudal lords. 宗祇 is a sense of beauty of the Middle Ages since "an old and new things now sum songbook" in the technical style of poetry that is a linked poem original tradition; "the head (cook) was mysterious and profound highly, and did it, and expressed a heart named the genuine linked-verse" (うしん). With the fashion of the nationwide linked poem, there was the activity of 宗祇 and the school, too, and this time was a golden age of the linked poem.
A work of the linked poem includes "葉守千句" "Yuyama poetry recited by three people form of a linked verse consisting of a hundred lines" "Minase poetry recited by three people form of a linked verse consisting of a hundred lines", and there are "short cogongrasses" "Agatsuma question and answer" in "description of Chikushi way" (つくしみちのき), a consecutive essay on tanka poetry "Shirakawa travelogue" in "day lily" (わすれぐさ), "old leaf" (boiled mule), "undergrowth of weeds" (a preparation), an account of a trip to a collection of haiku, and there are many classic commentaries including commentary "種玉編次抄" of The Tale of Genji, too. It is a person of the wandering to represent linked poem with westing of the 31-syllable Japanese poem, Basho Matsuo of the haiku.
Plural portraits stay, too, and Sanetaka Sanjonishi who received instruction with an important cultural property from 宗祇 on the figure in the ancient and modern times wears it, and the statue of a living person (outside link) of the national history folk museum does an inscription. I possess an illustration of mounting a horse with the paraph of Motonobu Kano (outside link) in Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and it is known how many a sedentary image having a heavy feeling round fan is after the fashion of Hitomaro Kakinomotono image again by an elbow rest (Nara Prefectural art museum, Fujita art museum).
