History

Headquarters (Heereskommando Ost) in eastern Federales

I reorganize the military headquarters (Kommando Landstreitkräfte) in a historic site of Potsdam Strauss Berg in the German federal army to be in charge of the unification duty of national people's army ground troops (Landstreitkräfte der NVA) on October 4, 1990 and install the headquarters (Heereskommando Ost) in eastern army. There was the headquarters in eastern army under conduct in a ground force to be under the direct control of at first. In the third district under jurisdiction of military (Leipzig) and district under jurisdiction of fifth forces (Neubrandenburg) of national people's army ground troops, the thirteenth armor grenadier division and the 14th armor grenadier division were founded each and were reorganized in district under jurisdiction of the seventh defense and the district under jurisdiction of the eighth defense. In addition, the headquarters and the district under jurisdiction of in eastern army founded defense were placed under conduct of the headquarters in eastern Federales at first.

Eastern part headquarters / army corps (Korps / Territorialkommando Ost)

For preparations for conduct, instruction for old nation people's army ground troops, the headquarters in eastern army is reorganized by April 16, 1991 by the eastern part headquarters / army corps (Korps / Territorialkommando Ost). Native district Defence Force (Territorialheer) and the field army corps under the NATO conduct were placed under subordination on a merger and in this way fitted army fifth organization announced on the West Germany side. However, when [1] did not perform this about the placement to the East Germany distant place until August, 1994 when the withdrawal of the German stationing Soviet Union forces was completed, about the transfer preparations to the old nation people's army garrison town in East Germany of the NATO corps (field army), it was guaranteed formally, and, as for the reorganization, native district became driven by Defence Force on the form. An organization of native district Defence Force was the military authorities corps which became independent from NATO unlike nation-led (German federal government) field army, but was integrated with conduct structure of NATO afterwards formally. It was stipulated about this in 2 +4 treaty Article 5 Clause 1.

The headquarters in eastern Federales was dissolved on June 30, 1991. The eastern part headquarters / army corps were subordinate to army inspector-general and succeeded conduct of the district under jurisdiction of division and defense afterwards. All German military ground forces stationed in the East Germany area were as follows.

The original main duty of eastern part headquarters / army corps was to integrate a subordinate corps with Federales. The 806th hygiene battalion transferred to for the first time from Hamburg for a West Germany corps on April 1, 1993 is subordinate. The last military unit of the German stationing Soviet Union forces would withdraw by June 30, 1994, but the eastern military headquarters / army corps are subordinate to the founded army conduct headquarters formally one month later. The East Germany corpses were unified for the first time by the German field army and were in this way coupled to conduct structure of NATO.

The fourth army corps

Native district Defence Force was integrated with field army by army fifth organization of 1995. It is renamed to the fourth army corps / eastern part headquarters on January 1, the same year. The fourth army corps were given a duty as the conventional field army. It was admitted into the district under jurisdiction of defense headquarters, and the organization of the East Germany area was reorganized afterwards by the force base forces. Three army corps (the first army corps, the second army corps, the third army corps) would be reorganized at this time by the multi-national army corps. However, only the fourth army corps remained a German military authorities corps. But the army corps are connected for the collaborative relationship construction with the armed forces of the eastern countries mutually. I have already shared garrison towns with a Polish military unit in 1994. The scale of army corps held the vehicle of approximately 45,000 soldiers and approximately 6,400. The position of army corps as of 1994 is as follows.

The army corps are delivered to instructions relations with NATO on February 3, 1995. As for the new army organization, hygiene brigade is subordinate to the army support headquarters under the policy of "the new army (Neues Heer für neue Aufgaben) for new duties". The army corps become the following basic constitution by the end of 1995.

The first aviation movement brigade (I appoint it in Rapid Deployment Force) is founded in フリッツラー on April 3, 1997, and approximately 3,300 soldiers are satisfied under a servant newly. In the fourth army corps, dissolution is decided on July 1, 2001 by the conduct authorities of the marshalcy, and the army corps are dissolved on March 31, 2002. After dissolution, the army corps headquarters was absorbed in the Federales dispatch conduct headquarters.
