Don エイゼル

Don エイゼル (Donn Fulton Eisele, from June 23, 1930 to December 2, 1987) is the test pilot of the American air force, an astronaut of National Aeronautics and Space Administration. I acted as a pilot of the command module in Apollo 7 of 1968. I played an active part as a commander of the Kingdom of Thailand area of the United States of America Peace Corps after a retirement in NASA and an air force and launched business afterwards.

Education

エイゼル graduated from west Senior High School in Ohio Columbus in birth, 1948. I graduated from Naval Academy in 1952 and acquired master's degree of the astronautics in an air force college of engineering of the light Patterson Air Force Base in 1960.

エイゼル was eagle scout in the Boy Scout. NASA Exceptional Service Medal, Air Force Senior Pilot Astronaut Wings, Distinguished Flying Cross win many prizes in NASA and an air force. In addition, I cowin Haley Astronautics Award in an American aerospace society in 1969 and win National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Special Trustees Award again in the same year.

An air force and astronaut

エイゼル graduated from Naval Academy, but chose the placement on duty to the American air force. Because Air Force Academy was still under construction, エイゼル graduated from Naval Academy, military academy, United States Merchant Marine Academy. On October 11, 1968, エイゼル was chosen by a command module pilot of Apollo 7 who became the first space trip for the third astronaut. エイゼル let Saturn rocket IB rocket and moon module make a rendezvous with Walter scilla of the captain, Walter Cunningham of the moon module pilot. They let eight examinations succeed and fired it by manual operation with the promotion engine of the service module. They measured the precision of all systems of the spaceship again, and the program of effective TV went for the first time on board.

Apollo 7 flew over distant visible point 284.3km, earth orbit of perigee 227.1km. For 260 hours, the flight of 7,250,000km landed at the point of 15km from carrier Essex on the Atlantic on October 22, 1968 and was over. This was an error of 0.6km a short distance from the planned point. エイゼル spent 260 hours in space.

エイゼル acted as the backup of the command module pilot in Apollo 10 of 1969 again. エイゼル left the astronaut room in 1970 and became a technical assistant of the manned space flight in Langley Research Center of NASA. I resigned from both NASA and air force in 1972.

Carrier after NASA

In July, 1972, エイゼル became the Thai commander of the United States of America Peace Corps. It was Manager sales of Marion Power Shovel Company which was one branch of en:Dresser Industries company when I came back from Thailand two years later. エイゼル treated a personal account, a corporation account afterwards in investment company Oppenheimer & Company.

エイゼル died at 57 years old by myocardial infarction during a business trip to Tokyo. He had Susan of the wife and two children, four children between the ex-wife.

エイゼル was buried in Japan, and the ashes were buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
