Origin, person
I it in the debut -1910 generation
From the baseball team called Dennison that participated in the western association league of the minor at the age of end game, 19 years old in a season of 1915, I join St. Louis Cardinals and I make my debut for the game of the measure at once and participate in 18 games. I joined Cardinals as a shortstop, but I seemed to be able to digest the infield anywhere and handle all four positions of the infield from the first base to the third base in the second-year 1916 and establish the defense record called the one game 14 assist to line up for the measure record as a shortstop at the time in 1917. There was only a weak point that it was hard for the Horne B to catch a pop fly finished highly. When it ran backward, and it turned to right above, this was because abnormality occurred in his sense of balance.
The horror of the blow of the Horne B that became 2 degrees winner of a triple crown has begun to already flower afterwards in the joining an organization second year. The batting average of 1916 hit .313, the three-base hit of 15, and the slugging average has already become .444. The batting average rose with .327 more in 1917, the following day, and 17 three-base hits became the league most, and it was before I left results of slugging average .484 of the league top. I hit strong line drive towards the left in perfect level swing to the right while standing at the far-off corner from the aftermost base of the batter's box, and minding it when the Horne B entered the turn at bat, and greatly stepping into the inside by a long stride from there. Because the speed to go around the first base was fast, it became a two-base hit and the three-base hit without much batted ball terminating in the single hit. In addition, the Horne B had character that I was very earnest and was calm. The leaving disposal only had a twice in 1918 and since then hardly did that I objected to judgment call. When the batter's eye seemed to gradually improve, and I am the weakest, and Horne B shows a posture to lean back for a throw of "it is high inside" which I did for blow-style to greatly step in the early 1920s when I was afraid by the pitcher of other teams, it is said that an umpire came to call it with a ball.
From 1920 to 1926
The blow results of 1918 and 1919 drop at one time, but MLB enters for the live ball era in 1920. The standard of the used ball changed, and, as for the blow of the Horne B, it was the menace for the pitcher because a ball came to fly more. The Horne B takes root in the second baseman in the same year, and the defense comes to be named impregnable guard, an act of God later. When I beat, I record 218 hits and batting average .370, 94 runs batted in and win two crowns of the league leading hitter and the RBI king for the first time. I participated in 154 games in 1921, the following day, and all became the league top in cheap at bats, score, two-base hit, three-base hit, RBI, batting average, on-base average, slugging average. And, in 1922, as for the batting average, the oneself first 40%, RBI arrived to 150 runs batted in at last, and the Horne B that, in addition, gave off 42 home runs of the league most put results to almost monopolize the league first place of not only the oneself's first blow Triple Crown but also the main blow section in the RBI king with the previous leading hitter.
There is few it, and a participation game number only became the leading hitter in 1923, but kicks out National League record and batting average .424 that it is in 1924. The batting average 40% super えを achievement consecutive for two years of the measure tie record that it is 1925 since Ty Cobb more. The third batting average 40% is a tie record, too. Furthermore, I get in history Major League's first the second blow winner of a triple crown by the home run of 143 runs batted in and 39. Besides, while oneself does additional post supervision of Cardinals as a successor to branch rickey, this the second winner of a triple crown accomplishes it, and, as for the winner of a triple crown acquisition in player additional posts, it is the only record including a pitcher. The Horne B was chosen as the MVP of the National League in the same year.
In 1926, the Horne B gets success as the supervision. Although I looked inferior to previous six years, the blow results of oneself led Cardinals to the first National League conquest and won against the World Series. It was the Horne B that there was the previous activity, and completely became the hero of Cardinals, but it was a trade with the Giants that was waiting in the off in this year.
After 1927
The off, the Horne B demanded a contract from Cardinals for three years of 50,000 dollars a year in 1926, but Frankie flysch of New York Giants, the exchange trade with the Jimmy ring are established in December in after all this year without being accompanied by compromise with Sam ブレッドン which was an owner at the time, and the Horne B moves to New York. After belonging to the Giants for one year, and having left batting average .361, 125 runs batted in of grades, I move to Boston Braves in 1928, the following day. Although I won the title of the leading hitter who becomes the oneself seventh here, a special trade of one to five +200,000 dollars with Chicago Cubs is established in off in the same year, and the Horne B will move to Chicago.
The blow of the Horne B does not show decline even if I move to Cubs and raises batting average .380, 149 runs batted in, 39 home runs in this year and is chosen as the second National League MVP. It is a turning point not to have been able to even play for the injury of the foot in 1930 and the Horne B pours the back of Joe McCarthy of the having taken up the post formerly in the same year and will serve supervision of Cubs until 1932. However, as for the Horne's B, supervision is dismissed by a game of August 2, 1932 last, and Cubs is released (Cubs gives glory to league championship in the same year). After having played at one time in Cardinals, the Horne B that came back to St. Louis in the next year takes office as supervision of St. Louis Browns and commands Browns until 1937. However, Browns at the time had already become the unmanageable small and weak baseball team of the Horne B, and the team only repeated last place fight every year. The last participation of the Horne B as the player was a game of July 20, 1937 and left Browns all over the season in the same year. I meet Ted Williams who improved the skill in Minneapolis in these days. It was reputation, but, according to Williams, it is said that I was nice to you very much with the person who he is coarse, and is unsociable. When I am well just two of us and practiced after spring training, I look back. [1]
After having entered the American baseball palace in 1942, it was supervision of St. Louis Browns in form called back in 1952 by building Beck of the owner after an interval of 17 years and led the Cincinnati Reds in the spot until return, 1953. After having retired from supervision business, the Horne B continued affecting the Major League, and I established it in being on the register roll, 1962, and I was invited as a coach of the vertical New York Mets as an interval coach for 1958 through 2 by Chicago Cubs and performed the instruction to a young player. After having retired itself from the active play player, the Horne B does not eat even coffee much less a cigarette and the liquor either, and it is said that the movie did not consider from a reason "to come to have poor eyesight".
In 1963, the Horne B caused a heart attack in the middle of cataract surgery and died in Chicago. A missing number becomes handled as an excellent player of the times without a uniform number in St. Louis Cardinals.
