ホルニッセ (plane)
VTOL (VTOL) that Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) aerodromics section (the old aviation headquarters) is studying ホルニッセ (Hornisse). Or a development project name (Project Hornisse). "ホルニッセ" of the name means a hornet in German.
Summary
It is a body for the purpose of the technical proof of the lift fan type VTOL, and a study is pushed forward by an aerodromics section promotion system study group. An indoor examination with unmanned "80cm class VTOL testing equipment" is started in 2008, and an unmanned test flight by "2m class VTOL testing equipment" (Hornisse type 2B) which upsized is performed as of 2014. I will plan that I start a test flight of "the JAXA 2 Sheeter Lift Fan type VTOL testing equipment" which is the manned plane of double seats in 2022 in future after having performed an unmanned examination with larger "3m class VTOL testing equipment" from 2016.
As for the body, a moving part such as ティルトローター is abolished for safety improvement as much as possible and integrates four ducted fans for the surfacing into the body and has two ducted fans for the promotion. The fan for the promotion was located in the posterior body at the time of the 80cm class testing equipment, but I was transferred from 2m class testing equipment by a wingtip to cancel ability for control lack of ヨー. The fan for the surfacing continues operating during level flight to omit clutch mechanism and is used for reduction of the air resistance and the reinforcement of the control power. An electric motor was used for power source to 2m class testing equipment, but two turboshaft engines of the JAXA original development become going to be used after the 3m class testing equipment.
I finally aim for, besides, developing passenger VTOL VTOL for the freight for the cause in a provided technique. In addition, the development to disaster-response VTOL is classified into the field of vision, too.
