Smiley Lewis (Smiley Lewis, from July 5, 1913 to October 7, 1966) is an R & B singer of Louisiana, America. The real name is a オヴァートン Amos lemon. It is a shouter of the New Orleans R & B of the deep voice that played an active part from 50s through 60s.

Origin

On July 5, 1913, I am born in town, デクインシー in southwestern Louisiana. I emigrated to New Orleans in the teenage middle and came to be active with タッツ Washington and others of the pianist [1].

In 1947, I make my debut than a deluxe record in "Here Comes Smiley". In 1950, I contract with an Imperial record and release "Tee-Nah-Nah". It was from this time that his name came to be known.

In 1952, "Bells Are Ringing" records the R & B chart tenth place. For Lewis, this became with the first chart.

In 1955, I release "I Hear You Knocking" (the R & B chart second place). It was the Lewes that recorded the R & B chart second place's greatest hit [2], and this music was covered by Fats Domino, デイヴ Edmonds and others and came to be known more widely.

In 1961, one piece releases a single record than Roma record from a dot record from an OK record each in one piece, 1965 in one piece, 1964 in Imperial keeping away from から, same year. However, these release was not able to get the hit such as the work of the Imperial times.

On October 7, 1966, Lewis closed a 53-year-old life because of stomach cancer in New Orleans.
