Awa Shrine
The Shinto shrine where Awa Shrine (a bubble as for pitching a camp) is located in Oasachoikenotani, Naruto-shi, Tokushima. An old prefectural shrine.

History
The Emperor Tsuchimikado moves to the Awa country after a revolt of Shokyu more to the Tosa country in (1223) for 遷幸, Joo era two years in (1221) for Shokyu three years and passes away in (1231) for Kanki three years approximately nine years later, and there is an opinion doing comparing and drawing conclusions in Shozui (Aizumi-cho) where a protection place is near in the temporary palace. "There is it in 奉祀, "Awa will" in the Emperor Tsuchimikado joss house Ikenotani-mura Emperor mountain south foot" and the people are rich, and gets Emperor Tsuchimikado Corporation to invite to the north of the Emperor Tsuchimikado cremation mound with the popular name "Emperor". I am renamed to Maruyama Shrine afterwards in (1875) in 1875 (Naruto-shi history).
I changed a company name to Awa Shrine as a commemorative event in A.D. 2600 in (1940) in 1940 and built a main shrine newly in the present location adjacent northeast of the cremation mound. I was completed by citizen of the prefecture 奉賛 and 勤労祀仕 that I gave it in (1943) in 1943 and ranked among 斎行, the prefectural shrine by a main shrine seat festival.
