Table of contents
Summary
It is the popular name of a freight branch line between Hamamatsucho Station - Tokyo freight terminal station - Hamakawasaki Station of Tokaido Main Line, a branch line (Hamakawasaki branch line) between Hamakawasaki Station - Hatchonawate Station of Nanbu Line, Hatchonawate Station - Tsurumi Station interval of Tokaido Main Line, each freight branch line between Tsurumi Station - Hazawa, Yokohama Station - Higashi-Totsuka Station and the goods line consisting of double tracks traveling side by side with a traveler line with the main line between Higashi-Totsuka Station - Odawara Station of Tokaido Main Line. Similarly I may include the article crane line which is a freight branch line of Tokaido Main Line, the Takashima line. Of these, there is the popular name of "large tide line" (I took the initial of Shiodome that was Oi Pier with the Tokyo freight terminal station to suppose, and not to be able to push and a former freight station) between the Hamamatsucho Station - Tokyo freight terminal stations. In addition, it was the popular name which was not used very much now, but called it before with "a crane salt line" between former Shiohama chastity - Tsurumi Station.
An article crane line used as a goods line was made a traveler till then, and, in 1980, a train of Yokosuka Line that Tokaido Line train and separation (SM separation) were considered to be it between Tokyo Station - Ofuna Station became Sobu Express Line and the new route to communicate it directly. The completion of the new goods line between Tsurumi Station - Hazawa, Yokohama Station - Higashi-Totsuka Station was the union card of the separation startup, but, about this SM separation, as for the section, completion needs time in a delay, SM separation by an opposition movement around Hazawa that does not receive the benefit of the railroad directly.
In the Hamamatsucho Station - Tokyo freight terminal station interval, it is stopped with construction of Toei Oedo Line. The construction of Oedo Line has been already completed, and a single line is left unattended at the side of the Shinkansen at Tamachi Station - Hamamatsucho Station although a double track or a bridge added to the Tokaido Shinkansen forwarding line are maintained from the Tokyo freight terminal station to the neighborhood of Tamachi Station, and a track is removed with the connection of the Tokyo monorail Haneda Airport Line station building move in the neighborhood of Hamamatsucho (I am changed a plan of later, and the station building move is not laid again although I disappeared), and it is not yet decided whether it will revive in future at all. The track removal trace is used as parking space such as large trucks for the railroad construction as of 2009.

General condition along the line
I write it down about a track between Hamamatsucho Station - Odawara Station and the general condition along the line [1].
between Hamamatsucho Station - Tsurumi Station
The starting point on the documents of the Tokaido goods line is Hamamatsucho Station, but is stopping from the station to the Tokyo freight terminal station. It is the form along the east side (the sea side) of Yamanote Line, Keihin-Tohoku Line, Tokaido Line, the Tokaido Shinkansen, and the site of the goods line is left, but a track is removed, and the neighborhood of Hamamatsucho Station is paved now. The goods line goes ahead through the subjacency of Tokyo monorail Haneda Airport Line for a while and advances to the southeast along a Tokaido Shinkansen forwarding line when I pass Tamachi Station of Yamanote Line, Keihin-Tohoku Line. I step over Metropolitan expressway 1 Haneda Line and the Tokyo monorail and, along Shinagawa thermal power station, Ooi thermal power station, reach the Tokyo freight terminal station when I step over the neighborhood of capital bay-coast express way Ooi doorway more. The station is next to Shinkansen Ooi vehicle base of Central Japan Railway Company (Central Japan Railway), 東臨運輸区 of the Tokyo seaside rapid transit railway.
I enter the tunnel just before Central Wholesale Market Ota market when I leave the Tokyo freight terminal station and become the section under the ground from here to Kawasaki freight station (this section is an extremely rare section in Japan saying that a freight train runs an underground cable). I part from a monorail near Tenkubashi Station and intersect Keihin Electric Express Airport Line (basement) in a right angle parallel to ground Tokyo monorail through the side of Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport) from Showajima. I appear on the ground near a shift, the intersection point with the Metropolitan expressway Kanagawa 6 Kawasaki line from Tokyo to Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa when I pass through the bottom of the Tama River and reach the Kawasaki freight station. Each Kanagawa Rinkai Tetsudo line diverges from the station yard, and there is Kojima-Shinden Station of Keihin Electric Express Daishi Line in the outskirts. I approach the Metropolitan expressway Kanagawa 1 side feather line in S-curve when I leave the Kawasaki freight station and advance to parallel, the west direction for a while and reach Hamakawasaki Station before long. I am connected to Tsurumi Line through the freight station yard from the station.
It becomes the section of the Nanbu Line Hamakawasaki branch line (Takeshi Minami branch line) from Hamakawasaki Station to Hatchonawate Station and shares a track with a passenger train to Kawasaki-Shimmachi Station. I advance to the northwest in a residential area, and a track of Nanbu Line diverges from the track of the Tokaido goods line in the Kawasaki-Shimmachi Station yard. I step over National highway No. 15 (first Keihin) after this and advance in 3 lines with Nanbu Line of Tokaido goods line and the single line of the double track to Hatchonawate Station intersecting Keihin Electric Express Main Line. Be identified as Nanbu Line from Hatchonawate Station and curve to the left while stepping over it on a driving school and run side by side with the left side of the passenger line (Tokaido Line, Keihin-Tohoku Line). It is Tokaido goods line and junction in the point that enters Yokohama-shi at here, and an article crane goods line steps over each line from the right side, and crossed the Tsurumi River. I reach Tsurumi Station before long. The station has a passenger home only to Keihin-Tohoku Line and Tsurumi Line, but it is in the junction where Tokaido goods line and article crane goods line, Takashima & Co., Ltd. line diverge.
between Tsurumi Station - Higashi-Totsuka Station
Some trains of "the Shonan liner" of Tokaido Line go by way from Tsurumi Station and are the planned section where the trains (East Kanagawa area line) from Sotetsu Main Line to the Tokyo downtown area run in again to Hazawa, Yokohama Station. I pass through Tsurumi Line in passenger form caught in each line and Keihin Electric Express Main Line such as Tokaido Line when I leave Tsurumi Station and enter the basement tunnel near Keihin Electric Express Namamugi Station when Takashima & Co., Ltd. line to Sakuragicho Station diverges and I am divided with each passenger line and go ahead through the basement of the residential area to the west direction. I step over the neighborhood of Yokohama Line Oguchi Station in a high shelf covered by a shelter and enter the tunnel again and intersect with Kishine-Koen Station of the neighborhood of Tokyu Toyoko Line (ground) of Myorenji Station, the Yokohama municipal subway blue line (basement). Tunnel section is over when I change the line to the west-southwest and appears in the south side of the Tokaido Shinkansen and reaches Hazawa, Yokohama Station for exclusive use of the freight when I pass through the Daisan Keihin Expressway.
I enter the tunnel again when I leave Hazawa, Yokohama Station and advance to the south-southwest direction. I step over National highway No. 16 and the Sotetsu Main Line on the way in the high shelf with the shelter. I leave the tunnel before long on Higashi-Totsuka Station this side and, through new Hodogaya Interchange subjacency of Hodogaya bypass and the Yokohama new road, run side by side with Yokosuka Line, Tokaido Line. A turning point and freight facilities still less exist on the goods line of Higashi-Totsuka Station and a train passes and becomes.
between Higashi-Totsuka Station - Odawara Station
I run side by side with Tokaido traveler line from Higashi-Totsuka Station to Odawara Station. A connecting line from Negishi Line joins on Ofuna Station this side. I part from Yokosuka Line at the station and become the quadruple track with the passenger line and pass the Shonan freight station ruins when I advance to the west for a while. A passenger home for exclusive use of the liner is established on the goods line at Fujisawa Station and Chigasaki Station of there. Across the Sagami River, I reach the Sagami freight station when I pass the Hiratsuka Station yard of the passenger station. It becomes the section made a quadruple track in (1979) in 1979 from Hiratsuka Station. To Kozu Station where Central Japan Railway Gotemba Line diverges via Oiso Station and Ninomiya Station of the passenger line. There is not the home, but becomes the structure that can communicate the Gotemba Line and JR East Kozu vehicle center directly on the goods line at the station. There is 西湘貨物駅 when I pass Kozu Station. I pass the station, and the Tokaido Shinkansen approaches the right side from the neighborhood of Kamonomiya Station of the passenger line, and it is in the quadruple track according to the direction through a traveler line, and the freight down line reaches Odawara Station before long when I cross the Sakawa River. A passenger line joins a goods line in the station yard, and freight and passengers separation section is over.
Driving of the passenger train
Other than a freight train, Shonan liner is operated as a passenger train now via Hazawa, Yokohama Station. In addition, it is operated a bed limited express via the station when I make it to Shinagawa, and "sunrise Seto, Izumo" is changed by a large delay. In this case it stops at Odawara Station temporarily in substitution for Yokohama Station. When I delayed largely, I changed it to our route way, and the bed express "Milky Way" went only as far as Shinagawa, and, as well as "sunrise Seto, Izumo," it has traveled "a cherry tree" "a falcon" "Fuji" bed limited express "あさかぜ". When there were construction and an accident in a traveler line because there is the crossover with the passenger line running side by side here and there, I am often used as a detour route. In addition, in Odawara Station → Chigasaki Station intervals, the up of "sunrise Seto, Izumo" even usually runs Tokaido goods line. This is measures to reduce shunting of the local train of Tokaido Line to enter into at the time of a rush in the morning.
The periodical passenger train was not operated at the Tokyo freight terminal station - Tsurumi Station interval, but a temporary passenger train was occasionally run and hung it in September from May, 2009, and a limited express "resort dance girl" has run our route from Hamakawasaki Station to Tsurumi Station in temporariness from Tachikawa Station to Izukyu-Shimoda Station. In addition, "there are Mami and others" ran high speed between the wards in temporariness driven from September 18, 2010 through 20th. There was the time when car train was operated via Tokyo freight terminal station from Hamamatsucho Station since Shiodome Station was abolished for Japanese National Railways Era.
It is a design, a plan a traveler
East Kanagawa area line
Sagami Railway (Sotetsu) builds the new line (East Kanagawa area line) to Hazawa Station adjacent to the Hazawa, Yokohama station (tentative name) from Sotetsu Nishiya Station and a plan to perform direct driving via Tokaido goods line to the Tokyo downtown area is going to be completed in 2018 and progresses now.
I use Tokaido freight branch line freight and passengers together and it
In January, 2000, the route that "became the passenger line of the Tokaido freight branch line, and and bound Sakuragicho Station, Hamakawasaki Station and Kawasaki Station together as the new establishment of the Kawasaki approach line" (tentative name) via Hamakawasaki Station from Shinagawa Station and Rinkai Line Tokyo-Teleport Station was taken up in Department of Transportation (existing Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport) Transport Policy Council report 18th as B route (the route that should examine maintenance in future) [2].
As a result, in June of the year by the local governments along the line "used Tokaido freight branch line freight and passengers together, and a maintenance examination meeting" was set up [3]. In the meeting, I announce a concrete root in 2012 [4]. It is said that Shinagawa Station, Tokyo-Teleport Station - Hamakawasaki Station - Sakuragicho Station interval total extension 18 of 33km build the new line as for utilization, 15km of the existing line [5]. When this plan is realized, in the Sakuragicho - Tokyoteleport interval, Sakuragicho - Hamakaha Sakima is expected to be shortened for 29 minutes from 43 minutes for 12 minutes from 29 minutes for 16 minutes from 24 minutes in the time required between Shinagawa - Hamakawasaki [6].
Haneda Airport access line design
The tunnel of the Tokaido goods line went in the west of Tenkubashi Station of Tokyo monorail Haneda Airport Line and Keihin Electric Express Airport Line in Tokyo International Airport (Haneda Airport), and the traveler of the Tokaido goods line in the above-mentioned Transport Policy Council report 18th established Haneda Airport mouth Station as for making it it on the way to Hamakawasaki Station from Shinagawa Station and Tokyo-Teleport Station, and it was included that I planned communication to Haneda Airport, but JR East had been able to be affiliated by Tokyo monorail in 2002, and there was not the conspicuous progress.
It was November (2013) 2013, and utilized a large tide line (the neighborhood of neighborhood of Tamachi Station - Tokyo freight terminal station) which became stopping, and a plan to build the tunnel newly in the neighborhood of Tokyo freight terminal station - Haneda Airport interval came to be considered [7]; [8] [9]. JR East has already delivered Tokyo monorail to affiliation, but user increase of Haneda Airport is anticipated by the planned Tokyo Olympics held in relaxation and 2020 of the Haneda Airport landing slot and is to the transport capacity by the reason of there being a limit only by Tokyo monorail.
In August, 2014, in JR East, "Nishiyama hand route" from Rinkai Line Oimachi Station clarified a plan to build 3 routes of "the seaside part route" from Tokyo-Teleport Station "the Higashiyama hand route" which utilized a large tide line from the neighborhood of Tamachi Station in the subcommittee about the way of the future city railroad in Tokyo metropolitan area of the council for Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport transport policy [10].
Other
I ran in Tsurumi Line which was the heart's desire from the Showa era and extended to Sakuragicho Station, Kannai Station through Hamakawasaki Station, and separation and the Shonan Shinjuku line of the driving track with Tokaido Line started entry of, and, as for the plan to extend to Negishi Line more to entry of Taura Station, in change, the Yokosuka city, Yokosuka Line became the blank paper to Kanazawa Seaside Line in the part in Yokohama-shi. However, by JR East having purchased Tokyu Car Corporation in (2012) in 2012; of the general vehicle mill Yokohama establishment effectively utilize it; with demand and non-opening to traffic parts of Yokohama City University, Hakkeijima of National highway No. 357 at the same time of the different thing with the plan more than half a century including the start of construction ago a review is anticipated progressively.
