The symphony that Netherlands composer Johan デ May composed symphony first "Lord of the Rings" (Symphony No. 1 "The Lord of the Rings").

Summary
It is the full-scale composition work that デ May who hangs it in December, 1987 from March, 1984, and was composed about the fantasy novel "Lord of the Rings" of British writer John R R Tolkien is the first. It was written as a symphony for wind music of approximately 42 minutes at the performance time consisting of five movements. Opus called work 1 posted it at first and was called. The title based on a character and the scene is attached to each movement, but is set beside the story of the original in different order.
I won Saddler international wind music Music - Original Score Award in 1989 and got the prize money of composer fund "music creation fund" (nl:Fonds voor de Scheppende Toonkunst) of Netherlands in 1990.
I depended on well-known ヘンク デ free Hel () as an arrangement family, and, by the advice of the American leader David war bourgeois (David Warble), the orchestral music version was made with the top percussionist of the Radio Netherlands Philharmonic orchestra orchestra, too.

It is published by Amstel music (Amstel Music BV) that デ May established in 1988. I am sold by Netherlands デ ハスケ () and American Hull Leonard () (only in United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia).
In 2013, the 25th anniversary memory full score which touched the CD which recorded an interview and a photograph, live recording of the premiere in a facsimile version of the handwriting music was published in commemoration of the 25th anniversary by the premiere, publication [1].
