シュガートアソシエイツ
シュガートアソシエイツ (Shugart Associates) is a peripheral device maker for the American computer. It is the company which alane シュガート which engaged in the development of the floppy disk in IBM established in 1973.
It is known as an origin of development of FDD of 5.25 inches, and it is famous even to have established SASI (Shugart Associates System Interface) that caused the peripheral device interface standard SCSI for the computer.
Founder alane F シュガート leaves our company without after the establishment. I launched the シュガート technology that produced 5 inches of hard disks with フィニス Conner in 1979. However, the シュガート technology leads to Seagate technology in response to the infringement warning of the trademark from シュガートアソシエイツ at the changing of a name, the present.
シュガートアソシエイツ was adopted to the personal computer which developed 5.25 inches (5 inches) of floppy disks which downsized 8 inches of floppy disks in 1976 after alane F シュガート leaving the office, and was developing at the time of sale by the name of the minifloppy and spread. The company cooperated with Matsushita Group and produced much FDD in Japan. Early SA-400 laid many compatible products with the size called the full height of 2 inches of thickness. In addition, the magnetic recorder of the another kind including the ST-506 type HDD of the Seagate technology was standardized on the basis of size of SA-400, too (I shift to the half height type that I made half thickness later). The model of 8 inches was sold as SA-800.
The company was purchased afterwards by Xerox Corp., and the trademark of シュガート became extinct.
