Tofuku-ji Temple (Kikuchi-shi)
Tofuku-ji Temple (tofu lottery) is a temple of the Tendai sect in Wataru, Kikuchi-shi, Kumamoto. One of Gozan Kikuchi.

History
When it was done an open wound by Imperial prayer of the Emperor Suzaku in the subordinate temple of the House of Mt. Hiei-zan Enryaku-ji Temple buddhi in the Tenkyo era first year by (938 years), chief abbot, 證慶法印 of the sky stand monk, I tell. This temple was a family temple of Kikuchi until Takemitsu erected the original view temple and assumed this a family temple. Therefore Kikuchi family vault exists in the precincts and the neighborhood. It is said that glebe 25 町歩, the subordinate temple counted 15 箇寺 in the going. After power of Kikuchi declined, I return to Tendai sect again and reach it at the present.
I forfeit all the glebe at the age of (1601), Higo king Kiyomasa Kato for Keicho era six years and lose the subordinate temple.
The current main hall of a Buddhist temple was rebuilt in (1819) for civil administration two years.
