Summary

The Shigeyama hill makes a part of the shape of a tongue plateau following the east and west from the Ou mountain range to the Aobayama hill. This hill country divides former Miyagi-gun (Aiko Basin) of the Hirose River basin of the north side and former Natori county (Akiho Basin) of the Natori abandonment area of the south side, and it is now with the border with Aoba-ku and Taihaku.

Between Shigeyama hill and the Aobayama hill of the east side, a deep valley is chopped by a branch of the Hirose River, and Tohoku Expressway and Miyagi prefectural road 31 Sendai Murata line run there to the north and south, and this becomes the index of the hill at the east end on the map. National highway No. 48 (Aiko bypass) runs at the north end along the river in branch, 斉勝川 of the Hirose River flowing through the Aiko Basin. In the south end, National highway No. 286 and Miyagi prefectural road 62 Yamadera, Sendai line run along the river in Natori River drifting to the Akiho Basin.

Shigeyama hill in itself has a long ridge to the east and west, too, and Shigeyama (ばんざん, 356m), fall wind Shigeyama (ならいばんざん, 373m), Mitsumine of snake stand Shigeyama (じゃだいばんざん, 366m) range from the east. It is fall wind Shigeyama that a broadcasting tower stands.

Land development

Housing land development advances with most of hill countries near the Sendai-shi inner city, but the Shigeyama hill is no exception, and "Oritachi" and the residential area of "the brocade ヶ hill" are developed on the north side slope "Moniwa" on the south side slope. However, brakes suffer from the development because the nest building ground of Otaka appointed to an endangered species in a natural monument in particular was confirmed.
