Sebastiao Salgado

Career
In 1944, I am born in Brazil. Father ran the farm in a gorge called Rio Dausset. I entered the high school of ヴィトリア of the State of Espirito Santo at the age of 15 years old and graduated from a high school while working in an office of association of French culture spread. I advance to the law department at the university and meet the wife laelia which is 3 years old younger at the age of 20 years old in association of French culture spread.

A wife laelia supported the work family budget at first in a building office, but the work which I photographed in Niger in the same year is adopted on a poster of CCFD which is a French Catholicism system existence NGO and, as for monkey Gad, is admitted as a photojournalist. Monkey Gad purchases Leica for an income of this time and uses it to date [2].
Monkey Gad belonged to the news agency called the Sigma at first, but transfers to gamma in 1975. I belonged to a magnum photo from 1979.
In 1982, Eugene Smith Prize is won by the series that photographed the Latin United States. I win Prix de la Ville de Paris et Kodak in collection of photographs "Other America" in 1984 [3]. In the same year, I start the coverage of the drought of the subSahara Desert. I win world press photo Award in 1985. In 1986 a collection of photographs "Sahel is announcement in the human beings in the difficult situation". Edit this again in 1988; "Sahel is announcement at the end of the way".
In 1986, I finish subSahara Desert coverage, and a project to collect data on the spot of the mining and manufacturing to change in quality is started by globalization. This coverage continued until 1991 and was gathered up as the collection of photographs "earth labor of the human being" in 1993.
It was a problem of an emigrant and refugees that monkey Gad wrestled next, and it was a project for 6 years from 1993, and this was announced as collection of two photographs "Exodus" "Les Enfants de l'exode" in 2000. In addition, in last 1994, a detached room, production company Amazonas images of oneself are established by a magnum. In this background, suggestion to group the photographer who belonged to a magnum by a work front has not been accepted [4].
In 1999, I start the planting project to a farm trace of father. This was named Institute of earth.
I was derived from Institute of earth in 2002, and the design of the project to photograph beautiful nature of all parts of the world began and produced 32 photo reports named "Genesis" from 2004 through 2012. This result was settled as collection of photographs "Genesis" in 2013.
The documentary film that focused on monkey Gad in 2014 is completed and shows as "love letter (an English title: The Salt of the Earth) to the Sebastiao Salgado---earth" in Japan in 2015.
