Ñ
Ñ ,ñ (エニェ) is the letter which referred til to N. I am used as the 15th (between N and O) letter of the Spanish alphabet, and even Galician is used. I express hard palate nasal [ɲ] and am equivalent to gn of French, Italian, ny of the language of Catalonia, Portuguese nh. A consonant of "にゃ" "ni" "にゅ" "にぇ" "にょ" is near this in Japanese.
Origin
In the Middle Ages, it is the origin that I wrote small n on the character of n in a document written in an area between central part of the Iberian Peninsula and the western part.
