Louis Emanuel グリューナー (Louis Emmanuel Gruner, from May 11, 1809 to March 26, 1883) is a Switzerland-born French geologist, a metal engineer. I contributed to the study of the field of the iron manufacture technology.

I was born in Ittigen close to Bern. In the family of the scholar, the grandfather of mother has Albrecht phone Harrer (Albrecht von Haller, from 1708 to 1777) who studied the glacier in physiologists. After having learned at a university of Geneva, I went to Paris and I entered the Paris national high mining industry school and put excellent results and was chosen as Corps des Mines.
After having learned in Germany, I demanded work from sun = テティエンヌ where the steel manufacture was performed at a production center of the most important coal in France in those days. I performed the geological survey of the coalfield of Loire. I acted as the professor of the high mine school in sun = テティエンヌ of chemistry from 1835 through 1847. I was appointed next by the technical chief of the mine of the Poitiers district and performed the geological survey of the coal mine of Creuse.
I came back to sun = テティエンヌ in 1852 and acted as the principal of the mine school until 1958. Is appointed by a professor of the metal engineering of the national mine school in Paris; until 1972; worked. I acted as the important post in the field of the mining industry of France until I retired in 1897.
I studied it mainly in a field of the generation of the coal mine in the geologic field and announced the article in Annales des mines of Mineralogical Society and Annales de la Sociétéd'agriculture, sciences et arts de Lyon and de Bulletin de la Sociétégéologique de France of France Geological Society. I established an index of the dignity of the coke in the field of the metallography (metallurgy) and checked the dimensions of the furnace for production of the pig iron and relations such as the fuel consumption.
