Great Tomobe Maro Kim

Great Tomobe Maro (おおともべのかねまろ) Kim is the person who was in the Michinoku country of the eighth century of Japan. I am known only by a narrow strip of wood with message excavated from Tagajo trace.

Commentary

The narrow strip of wood with message (290th narrow strip of wood with message) which the name was written down was found from the soil which was used for the east and west direction when I made a drainage (SD1413 groove A) of the making a rock garden that continued under the road which linked the outer fence south gate to the administrative office of Tagajo [¹]. A groove having been made called the early eighth century [²].

I assigned ,□ to the character that it was hard to make out and was to the narrow strip of wood with message with "tall and stout □□ Maro Kim" and was found in a state to understand this with large Tomobe [³]. There is much great Tomobe to a narrow strip of wood with message of the Tagajo exhumation with a family name (カバネ) happening quite often in the eastern country as privately-owned people accompanying great Ban. It is unknown whether Maro Kim was "the head" of what kind of post, but I am supposed by a narrow strip of wood with message which appeared from the same place when it might be a person in charge concerned with the delivery of the wood [⁴].
