The height becomes around 80cm from 70 [1] and touches a lot of yellow flowers of the tuft for from August to November. The leaf performs each other life. The leaf of the lower part of the stem is a lancet form with an oval to have a sharp tip at the upper part of the stem.

It is distributed over Kyushu and Korea by Hokkaido. It grows in the sun-trap of the mountainous district and hill part. I was seen in the outskirts of the rice field among the Mt. village, the embankment of the reservoir extremely commonly and it was the representative of autumn flowers and was introduced by a textbook or the picture book of the elementary school with gentians well once. However, a place seen with such environmental decrease and dilapidation decreases, and, as for "the yellow flower of the autumn roadside," there is a feeling replaced to Solidago serotina.

Food is possible, and the young leave of the common goldenrod makes vegetables with dressing and boiled greens with dressing after having exposed it to water. In addition, the thing which I made dry in the shade becomes the medical use [2].

including the close species

It is a kind with much variation. The basic subspecies are Yaw sure keno orange stonecrops of the product in Europe. Than the Miyama common goldenrod of subspecies, the flower varies in the involucre piece being four lines in 散房状, but, as for the distinction that there is the middle model, and is close, it is difficult. オオアキノキリンソウ grows in the shore in northern Honshu in the other subspecies from Hokkaido, too.

A relevant thing includes アオヤギバナ and イッスンキンカ in spite of being another kind.

  • A leaf is thin, and アオヤギバナ (S. yokusaiana Makino) becomes the thick growth of vegetation from a single stump. I am distributed over Kyushu from Honshu and always grow it around a mountain stream. It is thought that it became the mountain stream plant from a common goldenrod.
  • It is the extremely small plant that イッスンキンカ (S. minutissima (Makino) Mitam.) produces it only in highlands of Yakushima, and height of a rice plant becomes only not more than 7cm. It is thought with a kind of islands model.
