シュベツォフ ASh-62

Polish license industrial goods ASz-62

シュベツォフ ASh-62 or M-62 (Russian :ШвецовАШ-62 /М-62) is an engine for the aviation of the air-cooling star type 9 cylinder developed in the Soviet Union. With a development type of M-25 which is the license industrial goods of the American light R-1820 cyclone engine, I adopt the second speed type supercharger and improved intake system. By these changes, the output which was 775hp improved by the original cyclone in 1,000hp.

The mass production begins in 1937, and it is considered that 40,361 engines were produced only in the Soviet Union country. This engine was called "M-62" at first, but the naming convention of the engine for the aviation was revised in the middle of production and was changed the name in "ASh-62". In addition, license production is carried out now as "ASz-62" in Poland (as of 2007). Production was carried out elsewhere in the People's Republic of China.
