- 3-hydroxy-2-methyl pyridine-5-carboxylic acid + NAD(P)H + H+ + O2 2-(acetamidomethylene) succinic acid + NAD(P)+
According to the equation, as for the substrate of this enzyme, 3-hydroxy-2-methyl pyridine-5-carboxylic acid and NADH (or NADPH) and H+ and O2, a product are 2-(acetamidomethylene) succinic acid and NAD+ (or NADP+). I use FAD as cofactor.
The organization name is 3-hydroxy-2-methylpyridine-5-carboxylate,NAD(P)H:oxygen oxidoreductase (decyclizing), and another name has methylhydroxypyridinecarboxylate oxidase, 2-methyl-3-hydroxypyridine 5-carboxylic acid dioxygenase, methylhydroxypyridine carboxylate dioxygenase, 3-hydroxy-3-methylpyridinecarboxylate dioxygenase [incorrect].
