2001 world track and field championship series Japanese team

I organized the team of 50 people (31 boys, 19 girls), and Japan participated in the eighth world track and field championship series held in Canada Edmonton on August 12 from August 3, 2001.

Dai Tamesue of the men's 400 meters hurdle won a bronze medal with a silver medal Koji Murofushi of the boy hammer throw and Reiko Tosa of the women marathon. In addition, sixth place, Tetsu Yanagisawa of the men's 20 kilometer walk won the eighth place with the seventh place a boy 4*100m relay (Ryo Matsuda, Shingo Suetsugu, Toshiyuki Fujimoto, Nobuharu Asahara) fifth place, Yoshiki Morishita fourth place, Shigeru Aburaya of the men marathon Yoko Shibui of the women marathon each.
