The intellectual property protection joint international secretariat

The intellectual property protection joint international secretariat (ちてきしょゆうけんほごごうどうこくさいじむきょく, Buddha :Bureaux Internationaux Réunis pour la Protection de la PropriétéIntellectuelle, BIRPI, (British: United International Bureaux for the Protection of Intellectual Property)) is an international organization about the intellectual property rights that ever existed.

This organization was established for management of the Paris Convention that was a treaty about the Bern Convention that was a treaty about the copyright protection and the protection of the industrial property right in 1893. This composition was succeeded in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 1967.

History

There were the secretariat about the industrial property established by the Paris Convention and the secretariat about the copyright established by the Bern Convention, and both performed each administrative task. In 1893, these were unified as BIRPI. The secretariat was in Bern, Switzerland at first, but, in 1960, BIRPI moved to Geneva [¹]. The last secretary general of BIRPI was ヘオルフ Borden how then (Georg Bodenhausen).
