Person, career
The real name Michel CAD (Michel Cade). After high school (lycee) graduation, I wander a comic artist and a singer, the salesman of the music hall, various jobs including the bartender from place to place and begin to write a novel from about 1953. It was plural noms de plume, and Michel Renoir (Michel Lenoir), Michel ルクレル (Michel Lecler), Oliver King (Olivier King) announced the work, but I won French whodunit grand prix of 1956 in second product "murder quartet" (Pleins feux sur Sylvie) in the name of Michel Lebrun, and the at a bound name came to be known. The work which I announced in the other nom de plume before it is changed to the Michel Lebrun name at the time of republication.
I announce the long piece at the pace of 1 product in sequence afterwards for three months. With Frederic Dard () and Fred Kassak, Hubert Monteilhet, the Sebastien Japrisot and others who won French whodunit award for the same period, I built the golden age of the French cliffhanger. It went away from writing at the peak for 1:00 period in the early 1960s, but reopens writing in the 1970s. "Auto route size blast" (Autoroute) of the announcement receives a high evaluation as a masterpiece of the latter period in France in 1977.
As a true author, a mystery commentator and an editor, the activity as the Ann solo distrike become Maine afterwards. I was engaged in editing of mystery study magazine "ポラール" launched in 1979 until later years. In addition, I edit "mystery yearbook" (from 1980 through 84 "L'Almanach du Crime" after 1985 "L'Année du polar") that publication began in the next year of the "ポラール" foundation of a periodical. This mystery yearbook sends an outline and comment, a score with the mystery of all the published inside and outside each in France a year.
In addition, it becomes one of the promoters of whodunit spread of establishment group "association of 813" (Association 813, official name "813: les amis de la littérature policière") of France in 1979.
I played an active part as a movie scriptwriter and was in charge of a script when James Hadley Chase, Fred Kassak, Louis C Thoma, a whodunit of Pierre Magnan were filmized and there were many spy action film scripts which took advantage of 007 booms, and were mass-produced in France of the 1960s and wrote it. I participate in a script of splatter horror film "face reply" (1988) of Jess Manager Franco with popularity cult-like in 1988.
I play an active part as translators from English to French. Elmore Leonard、Woody Allen、Groucho Marx、John Irving、Jack Finney、James M Kane、David stone DI translated らの work.
In 1987, pole feh Val popular literature award () was given for all writing.
In 1996, I die at 66 years old. I received the death, and the French whodunit prize (Prix du roman policier francophone) conferred in Le Mans City from 1986 renamed it to Michel Lebrun Prize (Prix Michel-Lebrun) from 1997. I am renamed to Michel Lebrun whodunit prize (Prix Polar Michel Lebrun) afterwards.
Style
Besides, the espionage novel series ("Midway H-bomb tests") that full-scale mystery series ("wrong numbers") that dramatist alane ヴィネル acted as the part of detective and undercover agent Richard Savile of CIA played an active part was Japan and, other than a cliffhanger, announced various works such as the light hard-boiled series of non-introduction, humor mystery.
Rintaro Norizuki of a mystery writer, the commentator raises following three points as a characteristic to be common to which work of Michel Lebrun having a wide style. [1]
- A tempo of the development being fast
- Some reversals being prepared in the last situation
- Excelling in a constitution power to summarize a complicated plot in without failure
In addition, Norizuki points out the great influence from an American mystery novel and states that the series that dramatist alane ヴィネル and wife Florent's play an active part will be the thing which I intend, and a France version of the puzzle series of Patrick Quentin was written. [1]
