The traffic geography (こうつうちりがく, English: transportation geography[1]) is a field for anthropogeographical one minute to handle a phenomenon about the traffic. It is the field where the movement of people developed in conjunction with what smartness became markedly all over the world by the transportation network that developed remarkably after modern times. It was the beginning of this field that a German geographer announced a street and the relative writing that I arrived of the topography in 1841. Until the early 20th century, the geographical book-like (relations of the development of the topography and the transportation network) study of such a transportation network was the main constituent, but it regards statistics document of various traffic as important in conjunction with quantitative geography having prospered led by the United States after 1950, and it is the main constituent now that perform the analysis.
Themes of this field include movement in the everyday life of people and the relationship of the transportation network functional についてや of a harbor and the airport, the development degree of the transportation network and-affiliated analysis of the location development, the development of the transportation network and analysis about the interaction with the circulation every day, and being concerned with fields approaching it such as economic geography, city geography, society geography is big, and it may be said that the interest in fields of these geography approaching it is required necessarily now.
