GS1
GS1 (Global Standard One) is an international organization to design the international standard, and to devise to raise efficiency and the transparency of the supply chain extending over the plural areas. The standard system of GS1 is adopted as a standard for the supply chains most widely in the world.

GS1 started in the form that Uniform Code Council (UCC) and Electronic Commerce Council of Canada (ECCC) participated in association of international EAN. In addition, UCC became GS1 US later, and ECCC became GS1 Canada.
