John Willard
John Willard (John Willard, before 1672 [1] - August 19, 1692) is one of Salem witch trial victims. On August 19, 1692, I was executed by hanging in Salem Gallows Hill. At the time of an accusation, I acted as the policeman of the village and was concerned with a trial. However, I began to doubt the credibility of the accusation immediately and refused a further arrest in May, 1692. As retaliation, the Ann pato Nam youths accused John saying that they killed magic user, 13 people. [2]
Progress (1692) of the case
- May 10 — An arrest warrant is published and arrests you though I escape.
- May 18 — Examination by John Willard.
- June 3 — A grand jury approves the prosecution by the use of magic charge formally.
- August 5 — As guilt a death sentence.
- August 19— The hanging execution. [3]
