Herman grid
Or, as for the Herman grid (German :Hermann-Gitter, British :Hermann Grid), gray seemed to become the shadow the part of the white intersection about a design of the grillwork such as the figure a little. This phenomenon is called Herman grid effect or Herman grid phenomenon (Hermann Grid Illusion). One of the sight phenomena by the luminosity comparison of the color. I was discovered in 1870. It may be expressed with Hellman lattice optical illusion.
For Herman (Ludimar Hermann, from October 21, 1838 to June 5, 1914) who was the detector of this phenomenon, it was named Herman Grid.
There are a glitter lattice and sale optical illusion for similar optical illusion.
Two colors to be adjacent in the recognition of the retina cell of eyes may be emphasized. It has been done with a phenomenon to have because the comparison lowered because there was some distance from black in the white of the passage part and the comparison of the black wall and the part of the intersection.
However, it is shown that optical illusion disappears when I let a lattice slightly warp into a wave form, and it is done with insufficiency only by explanation producing by the comparison with the neighborhood. [1]
