許慎

許慎

許慎 (きょしん, pinyin :XǔShèn, 58?-147 year?) is a scholar of Confucianism person, letter of 後漢時代. Father of the offing. I am known as an author of the kanji dictionary "historical commentary on Chinese characters solution character" according to the oldest radical.

Brief career history

『後漢書』 According to the Confucianists' circle biography, as for the family name, as for the, the name, 慎, the character are 叔重. A person of 汝南召陵 (existing Henan 漯 河市召陵区). I learned Chinese classics of Confucianism widely and received Old literature from 賈逵 (persimmon). One of the masters of ancient writings study of Confucianism. It is said that Ma Jung always respected him. It is "許叔重 of the five classics of Confucianism incomparableness" and designation せられた in the world. It became 功曹 of the thou south county and was cited in the center in 孝廉, and 太尉南閣祭酒, Mayor of 洨 were appointed.

Book

"The five classics of Confucianism different meaning" is the thing which discussed study of Confucianism from the situation of the Old literature, but Zheng Xuan refutes it in "five classics of Confucianism different meaning" later and writes "駁五経異義".

"The historical commentary on Chinese characters solution character" comes at the present, and "淮南鴻烈間詁 is adopted by note eight of 21 parts of book in print "淮南子", too". "The five classics of Confucianism different meaning" did 散佚, but there is "五経異義疏証" made 輯佚 by 陳寿祺 of 清.
