1,000 characters sentence

"1,000 characters sentence" (boil a thing) teaches a child a kanji and is a long poem of the classical Chinese which was used to use it as an example of the books. 1000 different letters are used.

Summary

Wu-di of south morning, beam (502–549) let 周興嗣 (470–521) of the famous civil officer make a sentence as a stylist. 周興嗣 thinks about 1,000 characters sentence in response to the command of the emperor overnight, and there is the legend that became the white hair when I presented the emperor it. The letter gives Yin iron and stone an order for handwriting of King Yoshiyuki of famous 東晋 as a calligraphist and copies it and collects it, and it is informed that I made a model of it for the calligraphy. Not a character of King Yoshiyuki, there is the divergent view that I used the letter of 鍾 繇 of Wei for, but is not influential. I was valued high very much from the beginning of completion and spread out in each place afterward and I hung it to the Tang charges from south morning and was prevalent and spread after Soong charges in the whole land.

The 1,000 characters sentence is a verse consisting of 250 short phrases to assume four characters that described the all things in nature such as astronomy, geography, politics, economy, society, the history, the ethic from "black and yellow" to "焉哉乎也" one phrase. The whole is divided into nine steps by end rhyme.

用字

By the letter which was all different, one character does not repeat, too. But both the sound and the meaning are the same, and "潔" of "絜" and "紈 扇員潔" of "女慕貞絜" makes it depending on a text in both "潔", and there is the thing to make in "㓗" of the variant character of "潔" [1].

There is not "a mountain" in the geography, and a kanji necessary for an abecedarian falls out "one" "three" "six" "seven" with the number "in spring" "the north" by the direction in the season [2].

233 characters are out of the Japanese Chinese characters commonly used [3].

Handwriting of the 1,000 characters sentence

The 1,000 characters sentence ever became the beginner's class handbook of the kanji of many countries. A lot of explanatory note books are published, too. Korea

Much rare 訓 is included in Kwangju version, but it is thought that I received the vocabulary of the fossil of the Korean peculiarity word before the 16th century or all Luo way dialecticism.

One of 44 letters of "the water" was sculptd on the back of Tsunehei current coins (coins of the Korea Heian period) from "the sky" of the 1,000 characters sentence.
