Summary

Clematis "Mrs Cholmondeley"

It is an experiment botanical garden installed in the ground in proximity to Tsukuba Science City, Tsukuba University. It is one of the research organizations studying the Japanese pioneer plant as 1 study section of the Japanese National Science Museum and is an engine providing education for public. It is opened (1983) (1976) in October in setting, 1983 in May in 1976. In late years I collect plants inside and outside approximately 5,000 kinds of Japan from all over the world from the temperate zone area to a tropical area particularly collect vascular plant of Naka Nihon, a fern, cycad of the East Asia, taros, South American Orchidaceae plants chiefly.

In the outdoor vegetation division, there are following nine.

  1. Evergreen broad-leaved forest division
  2. Temperate-zone coniferous trees division
  3. Warmth temperate zone deciduous broad-leaved forest division
  4. Subarctic zone deciduous broad-leaved forest division

  7. Grassy plain in a mountainous district (low land-related highlands characteristics) division
  8. Rock stone place plant (Yamaji-related shore characteristics) division

In addition, I have three greenhouses.

  2. Tropical rain forest greenhouse (approximately 24 meters)
From two rooms, there are low land forest and a mountainous district forest of the Asia-Pacific region. I protect Southeast Asian fagaceous plant, heath family, a variety of plants such as the Orchidaceae in the room of the mountainous district forest.

I bring up a useful tropical plant.

I support eight researchers of the field of plant taxonomy at the garden from (2007) in 2007. They study the number of chromosomes and cytotaxonomy to decide a shape, molecular biology based on the DNA sequencing, the chemosystematics using the secondary metabolism material, a derivation system and the plant morphology based on the pedology.
