The Grand Prix (XLVI Grand Prix de l' ACF) in France was held with Lance stone as sixth round of the F1 world championship on July 3, 1960 in 1960 in 1960.

Background

By the Grand Prix carried out with Lance stone in France, both rear engine car and front engine cars ran. Ferrari ディーノ 246F1 of the front engine car still maintained competitiveness and showed superior top speed by the long straight. Stiring Moss of the third place does not participate in this GP because of an injury. There was possibility of the champion in all drivers theoretically. Cooper kept a big lead in the constructors ranking for Lotus Development Corporation, Ferrari. All teams had the possibility of the title in the constructors at this stage.

Qualifier

Brabham ruled over the qualifier like a battlefront and added a big difference to the second person. Brabham got the pole position of two continuations. It was the third pole position this season for Cooper. As for the second person, Graham Hill of BRM, Innes Ireland of Lotus Development Corporation continued Phil Hill of Ferrari afterwards, and four of the different constructor occupied high-ranking 4 Grid. Final

The final began in two accidents. Trang Tinian collided the place where Graham Hill stopped in by a technical trouble from behind. BRM of the leech is greatly damaged and will finish a race. Trang Tinian was several meters faster, but this became the retirement, too. Bianchi clashed with Brooks, too, but continued a race with the both persons. Brabham led a race and ran the top in three laps of early stages. Phil Hill attacks Brabham and rises on the top with the fourth lap. This was the first time that Ferrari took the top this season. In addition, a front engine car was the second race for the characteristic of the circuit from the last in relation to a fight for victory.

Brabham and Phil Hill competed for the top intensely. Two people replaced 11 times of order in total by the 18th lap. Two people took the top from the fourth lap to the ninth lap in turn, and Brabham stood Phil Hill on two laps of top after having maintained two laps of top. It rose on the top to the 15th lap in turn afterwards. It was side-by-side, and two people fought about the straight and developed a close battle as a wheel touched it without several degrees. After Phil Hill lowered the order, phone trips challenged Brabham, but retreated after several laps as well as Phil Hill of the teammate. All drivers might still become a champion. Cooper widened a point difference to 19 in the constructors ranking for Lotus Development Corporation, and a title approached near at hand.
