The "National" team where representative soccer Saar Lunt (Saarländische Fußballnationalmannschaft) was ever organized by the Saar Lunt Football Association. I existed from 1950 through 1956. I participated in the FIFA World Cup qualifier in 1954, but ended in qualifier defeat.
History
After World War II, Saar Lunt (current Saar Lunt state) was placed under occupation of France. Because the French Government forbade that a club of Saar Lunt performed "foreign" (club of = Germany) game, the F.C. of Saar Lunt was forced to play in two copies of French leagues (1.FC Saarbrucken has come first in these two copies of leagues). Under such situation, the Saar Lunt Football Association for fear of being absorbed in the French Football Association applied to the FIFA for participation as the original organization which was not Germany in France. Because this application was accepted in 1950, "representative Saar Lunt" would exist formally.
You must organize a representative team in a small area less than a population of 1 million, and most all-star representatives were picked from 1.FC Saarbrucken. I won against the enemy land game with Norway of the first match by a reversal (three to two) from 0 to two in the World Cup qualifier of 1954 and accomplished a great upset, but I crushed it tragically, and, as for the qualifier breakthrough, it was not because there was West Germany in the same qualifier league (as for the result of two games with West Germany 0 to three, one to three).
With sovereignty recovery of Germany, Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) return of Saar Lunt, the Saar Lunt Football Association will merge with the German Football Association. Therefore representative Saar Lunt was canceled, too.
