The town where Mihara-cho (みはらちょう) was located in the southern part of Hyogo Awajishima.
Because it merged (2005) with other three towns of Mihara-gun on January 11 in 2005 and became Minami-Awaji-shi, I became extinct.
At the excellent production center of the onion, I am known as the Awaji puppet ballad drama birthplace again.

Geography
In Awajishima, it is the local government which does not face the sea with Midoricho. However, I have most of granary Mihara Hirano who Shimauchi one is fertile, and is very large and am surrounded by beautiful nature of changing 諭鶴羽山 seasonally. It is warm and is relatively blessed with droughts by a climate in Seto with a few precipitations, and rice field multiple cropping systems such as an onion, a lettuce, a Chinese cabbage, the cabbage establish the climate even in winter.
