Katsuhei Iwasaki
岩﨑勝平 (いわさきかつひら, from August 15, 1905 to September 10, 1964) is a Japanese Western picture painter. I am called "colossal intellect of loneliness and the poverty".

Summary
I was born in Kawagoe-cho, Saitama (existing Kawagoe-shi) (1905) on August 15 in 1905. Honna reads with "and a wall" [1]. Father 育太郎, mother of the second wife of 育太郎 is filled. 育太郎 serves the Kawagoe Board of Trade vice-president, and it is a son-in-law of Yukichi Fukuzawa for an uncle of Katsuhei, and, in influential people of Kawagoe, there is Suiko Sugiura of the fair sex poet to be known to as "the poet of the passion" to Momosuke Fukuzawa, the aunt of the businessman called "Japanese electricity King". The husband of Suiko is Hisui Sugiura of the Western picture painter.
It is attracted after Kawagoe Junior High School (existing Tachikawa, Saitama Hitoshi Koshitaka school) attendance at school in the world of the picture and goes to the Hongo foreign film research institute of Saburosuke Okada by an introduction of Hisui Sugiura. I make 2 waves and, after graduation, enter the Tokyo Bijutsu school (existing Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) Western painting department and study under Takeji Fujishima. It becomes the choice by 選奨, the first new sentence exhibition of the next year by a sentence exhibition of (1936) in 1936 and, after graduation, carries out a brilliant debut to the painting circles.
I became a member of (1939), breeze society in 1939 and I proceeded to Mainland China as a war painter again and announced the cut to [2] including the Yomiuri Shimbun Saitama version. 1941 (1941), a daughter, 百譽 and marriage of Ioe Saito. However, 百譽 which conceived died and became numerous twigs and the fight over the cause of death, and Katsuhei left the painting circles. In addition, 育太郎 of father dies, too and Katsuhei who was the child of the second wife is treated coldly by brothers and will be poor economically.
I enter the long Bedouinism, but do not understand the details afterwards. After the end of the war, poverty and the lonely life that the paint could not buy until I came back to Kawagoe and died continued. Only encouragement of Yasunari Kawabata and Michiaki Kawakita of the friend was a mental support and continued the rough sketch with the pencil. This sketch won a great favorable reception and received high praise of Edmund Blunden, but Katsuhei injured health, and living did not become comfortable. I died of lung cancer with defeat, disappointment (1964) in September in 1964 though I had a foreboding and exhibited the death at a new production exhibition. Age at death 59. The grave is Shingyouji of Kawagoe-shi.
The Tanakaya art museum which was in cloth Kawagoe possessed some of works of Katsuhei, but is moved to the Kawagoe municipal institution art museum founded after the closing of the hall.
