Box wine
The contents that the box wine (box wine / boxed wine) was in the inner package made of polyethylene or aluminum are the wine which is in a state put in an outer box made of hard paper or the packing forms. As for the packing form, the name called casque (cask) is common, too. A valve having airtightness is attached to an inner package and can pour favorite quantity by picking up a valve. An inner package fades away, and only a share of the wine which I released can prevent the oxidation of the wine because the wine which remained in an inner package does not conflict with atmosphere, and long-term preservation is possible. It functions as a substitute of the bottled wine that a stopper is made with cork and a synthetic seal.
With box wine, casque wine (cask wine), the bag inbox (bag in box, BIB). I am rarely called goon (グーン) [1], goon bag (グーン bag) [2] in Australia.
History
Thomas アンゴーヴ of アンゴーヴス company based in the Australian South Australia Ren mark () invented casque for the wine, and アンゴーヴズ company acquired a patent on April 20, 1965 [3]. By the original design, an inner package made of 1 gallon (4.5 liters) of polyethylene was put in a cardboard box for the retail. It was necessary for consumers to cut the corner of the outer box after the purchase by this method, and it was necessary to seal it in a special flagging down thing again after having poured wine [4].
I acquired the patent of the product made in plastic airtightness valve which let metal inner packages such as the aluminum glue the () company together for Charles circle pass () and pen fall of the Australian inventor to store it more usefully in 1967. Casque for all wine uses a valve made of plastic, and a hole to peep a valve is received to the outer box which I opened to one side now. The casque for the wine was cheaper than a glass bottle, and it could be made, and I was liked mainly again by a producer of the low-priced wine because transportation was easier than a glass bottle.
In 2003, the flight recorder wine () company based in central coast AVA () of United States of America, California produced considerable good-quality box wine, and the box wine played a role to overturn a fixed idea to be only a substitute of the low price wine. Within ten years from a trial of flight recorder wine company, I started that I filled the casque for the wine with the high quality wine which a winery and bottle final stage suppliers of hundreds of good quality wine such as French Rabbit Corporation, bandit wine company, octaVin Corporation, target Corporation produced in-house and sold it. This tide is related to increase of the cultural interest in eco-friendly sustainable packing (), and popularity of the box wine increases among the rich wine consumers [5].
Characteristic
Not only transportation and storage are easier than glass bottled wine, but also production costs are cheap, and weight is light, and the box wine is eco-friendly [5]. Capacity is various, but generally has capacity from 1.5 times of the bottled wine of 750 milliliters to 4 times among box wine.
A valve having airtightness is attached to box wine, and this valve largely decreases the oxidation of the wine. I keep quality after opening a letter for approximately 3-4 weeks without receiving cork pollution in comparison with bottled wine told to use it after opening a letter during several hours or a few days because the box wine does not use nature cork because I do not touch the air again.
You should consume the box wine during the quality maintenance period when a producer printed it without storage with the wine cellar being considered. When 12 months pass from filling, quality deterioration may be outstanding [6].
