An island of area 8.50km2 where Oshima (Ooshima) belongs to Kesennuma-shi, Miyagi. It is the Tohoku district's greatest manned island. I am called only Oshima, but may be usually called Oshima, Kesennuma to distinguish it from other Oshima.

Summary
It is located in the opposite bank front of the Kesennuma city area and is at one, the entrance of the Gulf of Kesennuma of the Rias coast. It is separated from the mainland by Oshima Seto, and only 230m is far at the smallest place. The highest score is Kameyama (235m above sea level). Rare "green cherry tree" (clothes yellow) grew wild in the top of Kameyama, and it called, and nature including 十八鳴浜 (くぐなりはま) which was a desert bank was a rich island, and it was full in "the pearl which was green forever Oshima" by Fuji Mizukami of the writer. Famous place
Many areas of the island are appointed in the Sanriku revival national park.
- Kameyama
