Summary
I am greatly divided into the MC-P/MC-MP/MC-K/MC-MK series of the MS-DOS deployment and the MC-CS/MC-R(MC/R) series of the Windows CE deployment. These plural series was sold in parallel at one time.
Although made a hit from release for a while; like other PDAs of high function and the note PC of the cell-phone is caught in reducing it in size and weight, and sale is sluggish. The succeeding model did not come up last in MC/R550, MC/R450 of the release in December, 2000, and the production was called off in March, 2002.
MS-DOS deployment model
I operate a visual shell called "UNISHELL" (file name UNISHELL.EXE) on MS-DOS6.20 and come to be usable as a PDA. I work with two 3 single alkaline cell and incorporate a modem of 14400bps. I made that I could transmit and receive the E-mail which had begun to spread easily selling in those days. The diffusion rate of the cell-phone is not yet high, and it is about April, 1997 that an email function is equipped with again by the cell-phone.
The deployment CPU tips a custom compatible with Intel 486SX of x86 origin. The architecture is considered to be PC/AT compatibility.
MC-P, MC-MP series
- MC-P1 (November 28, 1996), MC-MP11 (November 28, 1996)
- Pen operational model by the touch panel. There is not the keyboard. The number of the indication pixels is 320*240. Because there is not means to stop UNISHELL, I cannot use it as MS-DOS machine.
MC-K, MC-MK series
- MC-K1 (April, 1996), MC-MK11 (November 28, 1996), MC-MK12 (November 28, 1996), MC-MK22 (June 25, 1997), MC-MK32 (November 27, 1997)

- In MC-K1, a housing was called "blue モバ" in dark blue. In contrast, a housing becomes the black after MC-MK11; the common name "black モバ." Some colors are different from MC-MK11/12 in MK22/32.
- As for MC-K and the MC-MK series, a method to exclude UNISHELL, and to use as normal MS-DOS machine was discovered by the analysis by the user. I call this "I become DOS" commonly. But various invention including device driver and the patch processing was necessary to make up for an extension of UNISHELL lost DOS by becoming it.
- Furthermore, FreeBSD2.2-based "PocketBSD was made, too". I transformed myself into a machine compatible with full-scale Unix, and the most of the UNIX-based program in this way worked. The Internet connection by the PPP was possible, too and was able to exchange reading and the E-mails of the web page. Although I did not work, a graphics library named "MGL" was made by an individual, and X allowed the window programming.
WindowsCE deployment model

MC-CS series
The feature of the MC-CS series is that the weight is light small in comparison with the MC-MK series. It was released for the same period and worked at high speed to some extent than the rival machine Cassiopeia A series of the about the same size. As for the MC-CS series, 3 models were released, but the change remains for a minor change including the increase of the memory.
- MC-CS11 (June 25, 1997), MC-CS12 (June 25, 1997), MC-CS13 (November 27, 1997)

- The CPU is equipped with VR4102 where is compatible with the R4000 series of the MIPS.
- As for the size of the built-in memory, 8MB, CS13 are 16MB 4MB, CS12 CS11. The expansion is impossible.
- A housing and the keyboard are smaller than MC-MK and the MC-R series. The liquid crystal is 480*240.
- I work with two 3 single alkaline cell and incorporate a modem of 14400bps other than CS11.
MC-R(MC/R) series
There is a series name of Mobile Gear II. It is equipped with after WindowsCE2.0. The internal modem supports 56kbps. I am equipped with one PC Card slot with all models. One CF card slot is equipped other than MC/R320, MC/R330, too. The CPU is equipped with VR4111 where is compatible with the R4000 series of the MIPS or VR4121. Except the MC-R700 series, it was about the same with MC-K, the MC-MK series with housing, keyboard, liquid crystal (640x240).
- The MC-R300 series ……MC-R300 (March 20, 1998), MC/R320, MC/R330
- A model mounted with monochromatic liquid crystal. I work with two 3 single alkaline cell. Only MC-R300 is equipped with backlight.
- The MC-R400 series ……MC/R430, MC/R450
- A color liquid crystal model. The model that installed application software for individuals such as PostPet.
- The performance that is identical to MC/R550 other than the software that MC/R450 is installed.
- The MC-R500 series ……MC-R500, MC-R510, MC-R520, MC/R530, MC/R550
- A color liquid crystal model.
- Standard RAM capacity is strengthened to 32MB, and a user begins to read only MC/R550 freely, and the made flash ROM (16MB) of the note is carried newly.
- Enlargement of the RAM capacity allows up to 48MB, the model before it to up to 32MB MC/R550 by putting on an exclusive expanded RAM board.
- The MC-R700 series ……MC-R700, MC/R730, MC/R730F (November 29, 1999)

As well as MobileGear for DoCoMo, NEC produces it as carrying, PHS of NTT DOCOMO and a product to be connected, and to use and is a product sold by NTT DOCOMO. It is said that it is based on the MC-R series of MobileGear, but is greatly approximately different from housing size, the appearance, the specifications with the Mobile Gear unlike "MobileGear for DoCoMo" which is specifications same as a base machine. A key pitch is 14.1mm.
- sigmarion (the first generation)
- The deployment OS Windows CE 2.11 (Handheld PC Professional Edition Version 3.0). As for the CPU, as for MIPS (VR4121), the liquid crystal, STN256-colored is half VGA of resolution 640*240. The housing is Zero Halliburton design. The strength of the hinge part is extremely weak and I crack even if I normally use it and may be damaged.
- sigmarion II
- The deployment OS Windows CE 3.0 (Windows for Handheld PC 2000). As for the CPU, as for MIPS (VR4131), the liquid crystal, HPA256-colored is half VGA of resolution 640*240. The housing is Zero Halliburton design sequentially. The problem of the hinge is similar. The collar has blue to polish, three kinds of the cancer metallic to polish in total other than released satin silver first.
- sigmarion III
- The deployment OS is WindowsCE.NET 4.1. As for the CPU, as for StrongARM (PXA255), the liquid crystal, TFT65536-colored is wide VGA of resolution 800*480. GUI was a Windows XP-like original thing, and it was not "Handheld PC", but I was compatible to some extent, and the application for some ARM deployment Handheld PCs just worked exactly. The housing was designed newly and became small more thinly than first generation and II, and the strength of the hinge was improved, too.
