Mizusawa river (みずさわがわ) is the main stream of the second grade water system Mizusawa River drifting to Happo-cho, Yamamoto-gun, Akita [¹].

Geography

It is started from the Mt. Jiro Court Security Office (946m) Nishiyama foot and I detour around the foot of a mountain of the Mt. Mizusawa to greatly create an arc and form a valley and flow into peak Shuihu. I repeat river はゆるかな meandering adjusted flow quantity to at Mizusawa Dam and flow into the Sea of Japan.

It is used in the water source of tap water and the irrigation water of former Minehama-mura. I occupy approximately 70%, and, close to Shirakami-Sanchi, the virgin forest of beeches more than 1m in diameter to be said more than 100 years years old occupies it. It was a fast flowing stream of altitude difference 963m, and the Mizusawa River who drifted to the Mt. Jiro Court Security Office as a source has been protected for a long time as a forest at the head of a river.
