Brief career history

I make a normal school 19 years old after graduation and take office as the principal of 昌文小学校 (current Tahara Elementary School), but I enter Tokyo Imperial University later and I graduate and obtain a doctor qualification and live in Fusa-cho, Chiba (existing Abiko-shi).

I inherited birthright at 20 years old and I married a woman from village nearby, but got a divorce. The cause was for "a small house" [1] entirely.

"A fight of wife and mother at the time was a victory of the mothers-in-law, and the sister-in-law escaped by life for わづか approximately one year, and Kunio Yanagida of the younger brother who lived long most has returned in memoirs "hometown 70" [2] of the dictation in later years so that the oldest brother took a bride from the neighboring village at 20 years old, and a two husbands girl lived in the besides same house and could not succeed, and "there was no it in the sky in the second of the month", and there was a language of の because, however, my house was the house where a two husbands girl could not live in, and mother was a hard reliable person". In addition, even if "it might be said that the will from fate called the littleness of this house to my folklore rose from it," I stated and, in this, cast a big shadow over study of Kunio [3].

"Parents of me who let a young couple live in the same house which slept with the master couple somewhere else at all by all means, and can hear a bridegroom until the breathing of a sleeping person across a sliding paper-door were reckless, and a daughter states in old days again in memoirs "hometown 70" even if it is said of the comprehension of the village which arranged a marriage, and "this did not think about how the ease of the change of the system that is old not what I talk about should change the history of my thes, the people were violent" tells you about folkloric lack if it is flat, and it is said".

I go to Tokyo at 23 years old, and the broken-hearted tripod graduates in Tokyo Imperial University (Tokyo University) medical department special course entrance to school, four years later and practices medicine in Ibaraki Nunokawa town in the next year. I get a bride from an old family of Ibaraki before the opening of business and do the second marriage, but am informed it when the wife committed suicide later. Seiichi Ebihara who opened a doctor's office in Chiba Kemigawa let a tripod live in the detached room in the site of the Ogawa's house who was the parents' house of the wife and let you open finished a large number of people doctor's office in those days (now "a Kunio Yanagida memory public garden museum"). Therefore, the done tripod of the room left Kunio, Shizuo, the parents of the younger brother economically. Kunio reads many books put in the storehouse of the this Ogawas and is informed it when manual-like writing and Sotan Akamatsu "figure of Tone River will" (Kunio revises it Iwanami library, first edition 1938) of the Japanese folklore that it was are these storehouses and observed it.

I successively held Chiba member of prefectural assembly, the mayor of Fusa, Chairperson Dr. Chiba later. I performed big contribution in local autonomy as a celebrity of the native district, but Kunio is "hometown 70" and "I do liquor in the only comfort and recollect life saying it was the circumstance of the older brother that escaped from loneliness to be in the alien land". I state when there is the person who offered the topic of Matsuoka brothers to 貞明皇后 once, and "there are four brothers, and each tells there, anything works" carelessly on this occasion even if the tripod "already hears nobody,, one should be in the country of the top", and the empress "already spills a long-standing object and tears in it" and was pleased.
