Kent county (British: Kent County) is a county located in the western part of the United States of America Michigan ロウアー peninsula. It was 602,622 people, and the population in the 2010 national census rose 4.9% from 574,335 people of 2000 [1]. County seat is a city of the population maximum in the county that is Grand Rapids city (a population of 188,040 people [2]). The county name was named Ohio for jurist James Kent of New York that acted as the representative of the Michigan associate state at the time of the Toledo war that disputed it.

The Kent county belongs to the Grand Rapids Wyoming metropolis. There is steel case company in the county and is economy of west Michigan and the industrial center. In addition, there is the Frederick May L garden which is a cultural symbol of the middle western district. It was the republican strong ground and was in the conservative soil traditionally, but supported Presidential Candidate Democratic Party in the United States of America presidential election in 2008. This became first in 44 years since 1964. Even as to religion is conservative, and there are a significant number of evangelism Christians. There is Gerald R Ford International Airport in a county.

History

The grand river which is the Michigan's greatest river flows through the county. With the grave which is the remains of the Hopewell culture Indian who has ever lived in this area in the west coast [3]. The basin of the grand river was an important center of the fur trade early in the 19th century. After U.S. and British war, Rix Robinson and Louis Cane Poe became a local immediate early trade supplier [4].

The Kent county separated from the Kalamazoo county in 1831 and was established [5]. In 1838, Grand Rapids was made a corporation as the first village in the county. I was stimulated by some lumber mill construction by the end of 19th century, and this area became agriculture, a lumbering, the important center of the cabinetmaking.

Geography

River

After a grand river flowing through the west from the east county line, and having passed through the Ottawa county, it flows into Lake Michigan in グランドヘイブン. There are three following branches in the county.

  • I go to the north and south from Kent trails, Grand Rapids City John Ball Park to the 84th Street of Byron, and there is the branch line of the north and south direction from the 76th Street to the Douglas Walker park of the 84th Street with East-West directions along the 76th Street
  • It is unfinished as of Frederick May L trail, November, 2008 and extends to the East-West directions along state way Route 6 and connects it to Kent trails and a sone apple trail if completed
  • I go along Canon township trail, Canon tp. in eastern county. After having advanced along state way Route 44, I advance to the south sunfish lake road and I throw it on the east and am over in Townsend park nearly Canon Bergh through Canon Bergh graveyard

Airport

The air passenger regular service to Grand Rapids has Gerald R Ford International Airport (GRR). It was named Kent county International Airport formerly. The nation's first regular service was navigated between Grand Rapids City and Detroit cities on July 31, 1926.
