John Isaac ブリケ (John Isaac Briquet, from March 13, 1870 to October 26, 1931) is a Swiss botanist. I acted as the director of the Geneva botanical garden (Conservatoire et Jardin botaniques de la ville de Genève).
Brief career history
I was born as the son of the paper merchant in Geneva. I learned natural science in Geneva, Berlin and obtained a doctorate with Jean Muller (Johann Müller, Johannes Müller Argoviensis). I acted as the curator of the Geneva botanical garden and acted as a director until I died from 1906. I specialized in the taxonomy of the plant and performed the classification study of Corsica and the North American phanerogam and performed the study of the plant of the Alps (the southwestern part of Alps) to Emil ブルナー (Émile Burnat) and Malian thyme. I studied the Swiss botanical history and the biography of the botanist. The international-like unification of the plant naming convention that Augustin ピラミュ do perception Dole promoted was not yet realized and contributed to the international unification of the plant naming convention from the situation that the naming convention of four countries competed in those days.
I acted as the chairperson of Swiss Biological Society from 1912 through 1921 and received a honarary doctorate from Cambridge University in 1930.
